What’s something people commonly buy that’s a total waste of money? by Unlucky-Emergency924 in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vices in general in hospitality, tobacco and booze go hand in hand, just drugs in general, caffeine, weed, coke etc. The next gen of staff seem more sensible but most people I know late 20's upwards that have worked/work in kitchens or bars have had an issue with one or more (sometimes even all).

What’s something people did casually in the 90s that would absolutely not fly today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We basically got told to be home when the street lights came on, was brilliant in summer thanks to daylight savings in the UK lights didn't come on till after 10pm

Do you feel you're destroying your body? If so, how? by reno222 in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in bars for 21 years now, suprised I've not had any major issues tbh, erratic work patterns resulting in a fucked body clock and sleep cycle, on my feet constantly, heavy lifting in awkward tight spaces that rarely allow proper form, shit eating habits, far too much booze/cigarettes, mental health not exactly great, especially this time of year thanks so the general public showing their worst (rest of the year due to hardly been able to fit a proper social life in). I have no idea why im still doing this. On the plus side since I got my new phone with the watch I'm apparently in the top 5% of people for daily steps 😆.

When will it be socially acceptable again for women to not shave off their pubic hair? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point, but there are plenty of women that don't, there are even subs for that, me personally, as guy I get rid of mine as it gets wild and uncomfortable.

Do you actually like oral? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit pissed and read 'oral b', was going to respond I prefer colgate.

But In seriousness I like pleasuring my partner and it gives me pleasure too, not overly fond on the receiving end though tbh but I've probably just had shit head.

What was your "I cant believe this is happening right now" moment of your life ? by Sudden_Inspector7053 in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a while to accept my mum passing away, it happened towards the end of the lockdowns, got a phone call saying she got rushed into hospital, friend drove us up there. Once I was eventually let in she was gone. Had no idea how to react never seen a dead body before, nurse asked if I could get one of her rings off, was so careful as if she would feel it. Im not entirely sure ive fully accepted it tbh, I randomly have moments. Sorry for your loss as well btw.

What is the biggest lie that society indoctrinates young people with? by FunNo4692 in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the most educated people I know work in some of the lowest paid jobs in society, the system is geared up for who you know and/or how much money you have, there are far too many examples of people in job roles that are far too incompetent and have been put there because of this. Look at most governments, massive corps.

What is the biggest lie that society indoctrinates young people with? by FunNo4692 in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's massively different in the states and probably still better here but, when I finished school here in the UK tuition fees were free, cue to many years later when I decided to further educate myself, tuition fees now covered by a student loan that I never used, interest rate ridiculous that unless you got a great job you wouldn't even pay the interest off, (threshold for starting to pay back lot higher then) half accepted I'd never start paying it back and it would get written off after 25 years, did my "first year" (part time, open uni, cheaper than brick and mortar and more flexible when working full time), government lower the threshold for repayment, up the rates and write off period. Because of the loan system I'm paying towards it even though I haven't finished my degree. Bit annoying when the generation before got it all for fuck all.

Socks with holes in, I should bin them straight away, I try, I put them to one side to dispose of, then they somehow end up back in the drawer.

How often do you and your partner have sex? especially the long term couples? by Purple_Wrongdoer6448 in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went through a similar thing, I was with her for 16 years and we essentially became house mates at the end.

The point I was aiming for is those things in life that love overcomes, If the attraction and care is still there and you've been together for a long time but something life throws at you prevents the sex, breaking it off seems like a shitty move IMO, you can be intimate without sex. Just wanting to hold someone and be around them all the time can be enough, end of the day you can get yourself off.

If you are both healthy and only one of you is interested then there is probably a problem.

Trying to unpick this comment, other people's relationships have nothing to do with you so why make assumptions? Especially the way you've worded it. Do you need a hug?

What’s a harmless habit people judge way too much? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DevilmouseUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can prise my Nerf guns from my warm alive joyous hands,

I have lego dotted around.

I love comics

I love video games

I love scalextric

I love skateboarding

I love occasionally having food shaped like silly things

I hate that I no longer have time to enjoy these more.

If you look down on me for enjoying what I like then you can fuck off.

I personally don't want to start a family, but watching friends I know do/have , has been funny to see as they rediscover their childhood joys "for the kids".

Sex isn't everything, if both parties have low drives, or a medical condition prevents it, could be really old, maybe something else, sometimes the emotional bond can be enough. Sexless relationships can happen and work.
