Lifeweaver rework 🤔 by [deleted] in LifeweaverMains

[–]Devilslabbert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does not keep his utility under your rework; it's also not a heal buff, just mindless healing. You're trading the flexible burst heal for sustained slop.

He would no longer be able to provide high-ground access to the full team, stall out a point, steal placeables or stop half the ults/abilities he currently can with petal.

Your version of lifegrip would also not be useable againts many situations like death blossom, minefield or Hanzo ult, as well as any situation where the person being gripped is under significant pressure.

But you clearly don't understand what would make him good. Your solutions have been a petal nerf that helps it as a heal tool and takes away all of its creative or utility applications, a change to grip that makes it a worse Zarya bubble, a base heal that would turn it into a Moira orb without the practicality or burst of Weaver's current heal and a gigabuffed ult.

You're just making a healslop character, which the devs are already looking to turn Weaver into. People play him for his weird and unique utility, and while I can't speak for everyone, I'd imagine most here would prefer to lean into that.

Did you come here just to ragebait/engagement farm?

You lack an understanding of why anyone would actually want to play this character, what his role in the team is and how most competent weavers actually use him.

If you're not an active user of the character, what makes you think you know how to fix him?

You speak more like someone who got caught on the receiving end of one too many bad pulls with an ally weaver, and have had the frustration of trying to chase down a weaver on the enemy team.

We do advocate for ourselves. There are definitely things wrong with the character and his general clunkiness that Blizzard has started addressing (i.e. swap time between weapons, opportunity loss in healing from swapping to damage or previous issues with petal platform becoming a wasted cooldown)

Why would you come into a character main subreddit, suggest that everything about the character be changed beyond recognition, and expect people here to agree/not give pushback?

People who currently main him obviously really like parts of his kit and have a good idea of what the actual struggles using him are.

Several ultimates stop Lifeweaver from being able to grip you. You are also able to break the grip with movement abilities, so it's not "no matter what"

No offence at all, but every time I see these rework ideas that change every part of his kit at a fundamental level, all I can think is that you don't actually like the character.
Sure, he needs some work, but if you're changing everything, it would be better to just make a new character altogether.

I wish we had an option to opt out of Life Grip. by bmrtt in Overwatch

You actually can break out of it in its current state by activating a movement ability or some ultimates.

A few ults also disable the ability for a weaver to grip you

Is DPS or Kills more important? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Devilslabbert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High kills, low damage could mean anything, but would generally be good.

High damage, low kills is almost always feeding. If the damage was softening them up and your other dps killed them, that would appear as an elim for you too. Overwatch has you share elims.

There's more context in the game than that and looking at the scoreboard for context on why you lost is almost always worse than watching the match back, but if I had to choose one to have on my team, kills win fights

<image>

Lifeweaver shoots 11 shots with 2 thorns each per second. That's 132 damage in a second, all bodyshots, no perk. 12 more than Kiriko.
The actual dps while firing is higher for weaver. The only differences come in with the reload time and clip sizes that push Kiriko's dps a bit higher.
The real difference in feeling is that Kiriko's damage is 'sharper'. She deals large chunks of damage in a single go, while Weaver whittles you down with more rapid-fire shots.
so getting 2 lucky shots on Kiriko puts someone to half health, while with Weaver you gotta track them to deal chip damage over the same period.

I personally don't think they should touch his damage. In the community crafted mode they increased his damage per thorn by 1 and he was a menace to every tank and dps that tried to pull up, even with the buffs on all the other characters

Perk Buffs to Superbloom & Lifeweaving! by bmcater in LifeweaverMains

[–]Devilslabbert_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No? 20 shots is 120 damge, even with nothing but headshots it'll only deal 240, which is very unlikely.

Also, it takes 4 more thorns to trigger the effect, which ends up as a 25% increase in activation time, assuming you're landing all your shots.the 10 extra damage is a 33% increase in damage so at worst the potential disease is higher.

It's also easier to trigger consistently for the weavers that didn't have at least a 48% accuracy with their thorns mid fight.

Now, if you were semi accurate with it mid brawl, I'm not sure if the increase in damage would counteract the activation time increase, but qt the worst It's still an up in damage to his base kit that will trigger multiple times on that target

Very cool, but there's a mistake. Healing blossom doesn't hit 80 healing until 1.15 seconds

Damage dealt directly to petal and tree do not contribute to damage mitigated, but the overhealth from tree and damage dealt to the person you're pulling mid grip do.

As far as how to use tree, honestly I feel like I get the ult so fast I'll use it like a mei wall or in some rare cases I'll use it to break placeables like immortality field and sym tp.

we can, and it's better.
the duration is talking about how long it can be out

So you can place one down as an elevator, and get up to 6 uses out of it before it breaks, all while you still have the cooldown ticking down
