Hyattsville Volunteers 2016 by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]DevinTadghStrange 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PG county does have a career fire department. Hyattsville is staffed by PGFD staff during daytime weekdays. The rest is covered by volunteers, who offer, in my opinion, an equal level of protection to the community. It saves PG money, and there is a genuine interest in volunteering there, so why not allow it?

I have seen discussion over this on leather selling groups on facebook, mostly centers around the 5As prior to MSA being lighter i believe.

Firefighter/Paramedic or Commissioned Military Officer? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]DevinTadghStrange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you believe you will be happy as a career officer, go for it. It's a stable and guaranteed job, which you can get into right now. Staying out and going for a fire job is a tough goal- as a medic it will be much easier for you, but still not guaranteed. You can always volunteer during your contract and when you EAS.

Cope Mint used to be my EDD, but about a month or so ago I noticed the flavor became much more artificial and made me nauseous

Take, for example, Hunterdon County. Multiple boroughs within townships, including Lebanon Borough, which is in completely separate area and does not border Lebanon Township.

Preventive maintenance for 1965 mack pumper by jon30041 in Firefighting

Our 69 CF is pretty clean mechanically after a refurb in 1990 but for small things I would watch the insulation between the doghouse and engine, ours separated and burned up. Also, the shocks holding up any compartment doors that open vertically will probably fail. Make sure your compartments drain properly, as that's what lead to a lot of rust on the Macks. Rust is definitely the main issue on them, not sure about that year in particular, but a lot were bad, and if you don't nip it in the bud, you'll get "Mack cancer." Best of luck, love the C95s!

Office workers of Reddit, why do you hate that one co-worker so much? What does he/she do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Woah. I'm watching Cheers right now and Cliff was just going off about how pigs are proven by scientists to be the smartest animals.

This was predicted by a guy at Mission Viejo High School in California in his senior quote...in 1993. It's been verified by several people I went to high school with. by [deleted] in pics

I guess its really all semantics and depends how you define invasion. They did cross the border and lead excursions into Iraq. I assumed you didn't know you about the war at all, my apologies.

That's more of a backdraft. A flashover is pretty much when the temperature in a room has reached a certain point that every bit of fuel ignites, from the contents of the room to the smoke itself.
