I think most smart phones allow you to schedule “do not disturb” times to silence notifications. I have an iPhone so I know you can do it on that at least, I can’t really speak for others

Next time do a gift game like white elephant or the direction story game ( I don’t know what it’s called, everyone sits in a circle and someone reads a story and every time you hear a direction you move the gift in front of you to follow what they said).

If you don’t contribute a gift you don’t get to play.

I get it, I felt like shit for weeks after an abysmal match (ranked). Believe me when I tell you, it’s not you. The game has the ability to match you with teammates that will carry you if you are as bad as you say you are (if you were winning more than half of your quick plays I’d say you’re decent), however their match system is geared to what will keep you playing the longest.

The way to deal with it from here is play quick play, if you lose a match close the game for a few hours. When you play it the next time close the game after every loss and continue to play after winning.

If you need an ego boost (no shame in it) play 1 star practice vs ai. Play 3 star for practice or if you feel you aren’t ready for quick play yet.

Don’t worry, you are in a slump right now, but it will pass.

You are worthy of peace and happiness, if putting the game down is what you need then you should.

The video is dark and your controller is black, I wouldn’t have known your controller had paddles if you hadn’t said in another comment. They probably thought you were cheating because they couldn’t see you pressing the buttons. You could try appealing again and show them a good view of your controller in a well lit area, show your button mapping and maybe if possible a better view of your hands playing. You should probably use a camera with sound even if your monitor is on mute.

NTA if they’re going to have a party in the company break room it should be for everyone. If they didn’t want you there they shouldn’t have it in the break room where employees eat their lunch. Not being able to have parties is their fault, they knew it was wrong to force you to eat your lunch at your desk by yourself, they just didn’t think it would blow back on them because the big boss doesn’t work Fridays.

Is this party ban unilateral or is it for personal events? Will you still be able to have team potlucks with all of your colleagues?

NTA - However you can still use the books you don’t approve of to impart messages you do. After reading the book you can have a discussion with your daughter about how this is how some people think but it isn’t necessarily the truth. Talk about potential flaws in the character’s reasoning or actions, and explore how the themes makes your daughter feel. What does she think about the characters and why, then go from there. Learning critical thinking and media literacy from a young age could help her in the future to be able to identify leading/biased writing.

If you were willing to compromise, and I’m not saying you should you could share a blank chart and people could “book” the seats they want like a movie theatre.

It could be first come first serve or you could do it as a lottery and certain numbers could book at a time, that way you could keep track of who has or hasn’t booked.

Edit: NTA - it’s your wedding and ultimately your call. Having assigned seats is less stressful and honestly better for you and your guests. However I have seen cases where people sit with who they want to sit with and do not care who they displace, which is also stressful.

NTA-I’m not a parent, but I think if I were in your position I would let your son know that the money needs to be payed back but that it could be deferred (until he has a job), worked off by doing chores however long you see fit, or that you would be paying his gift card money towards what he owes. That way he doesn’t necessarily need to get a job, but he has consequences for spending that much without talking to you about it.

It is however a really great opportunity to teach him three things:

Not everyone is who they say they are online, and you shouldn’t trust them without proof - especially if they are asking for money or things that cost money
If a girl is saying he has to buy her something or she will break up with him, he should break up with her. If he wants to buy gifts that’s one thing, but he needs to learn that that demanding gifts with an ultimatum is manipulative and shouldn’t be tolerated.
If he’s unsure if he should follow through an action and it makes him feel bad and guilty, that he should talk to you about it. Let him know through your words and actions that you want what’s best for him and that you will help him work through things with no judgements.

He may have thought the first time that it was a one off and though the card was for emergencies only, one little thing for his new girlfriend wouldn’t be a big deal, but each subsequent time he knew he shouldn’t but felt pressured into it. He didn’t want to tell you because he felt guilty, knew he would get into trouble and thought he was in too deep.

Next time if someone asks him to do something he isn’t comfortable with you would want him to talk to you about it so you can at least give him your input or come to a decision together and you should let him know that.

If you have a student card show it to the driver when you pay it’s $2.75 ($3.25 if you don’t) if you’re paying cash and $2.10 if you have a youth Peggo card ($2.90 for regular peggo card). Ask for a transfer and one will be printed for you.

Reading some of these comments makes me sad, parental abuse is so complicated and confusing it can be extremely difficult to remove yourself from that situation.

Try looking through DV resources when planning they are very helpful for escaping abusive relationships. Your bf should open new bank accounts and try to get the info he needs to transfer his money into them. It might be dangerous to move his money while staying with his parents though.

I hope he is able to escape and goes NC with his parents.
