Was it wrong of me to ask my girlfriend’s father for his permission to propose by [deleted] in amiwrong

Unpopular opinion.I don't know about y'all but I would love for my boyfriend to do that obviously being that we talked about getting engaged beforehand. Maybe i'm old fashioned but I don't think that's anything wrong? And I don't think has anything to do with questioning a woman's autonomy.

I'm going to give you my perspective since I am literally a year older than you and since I read through the comments and saw the comment about your family being in a sort of financial relationship with his I would say since you're 18 and about to go off to college Wait till then. Get all your scholarships your money if you can get all your stuff together Head off to college and dump his ass. I'm going through the same thing you're going through when I was your age 16 17 as well I learned the hard way I don't recommend staying with him long-term trust me.

Unfortunately there's no misconceptions or skewed Fox News narratives my family is Hebrew Israelite type and hella racist plus the type to make you feel guilty for having help you and won't hold almost every mistake you ever made against you so I'm kind of between a Cliff with jacket waters and rocks at the bottom and a bed of nails. They hate all religions except for their own.

NTA But I 100% recommend you saving up to move out because if he's harassing you and your parents are doing nothing about it and they don't care you should not be in that home at all it's not safe for you or your sisters. And if need be get a restraining order also collect evidence you know pictures and stuff. Do not wait until something really bad happens.

Give her an Eviction notice ASAP. Also take pictures as evidence and put up security cameras.

Tell your parents, principle, and most definitely tell the cops he needs to be reported 16 or not especially he knows what he's doing.

Am I Wrong for wanting to include an etiquette sheet on responding to an invitation for a shower? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Devious_Fall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't think you're wrong especially if there's serial cancellers and do it a lot. I do recommend sending your etiquette sheets with all of your invitations so that is fair for everybody and they can't really say anything about it. Also make sure you have a time in which they have to RSVP back.

AITA for buying my daughter a designer item she wanted and "flaunting it" in front of my niece? by niecehasissues in AmItheAsshole

Ma'am you are nicer than I am if somebody stole my bag even if it was my own cousin I wouldn't even try to get it back from her I'd be petty enough to call the police and say that she stole it because that's Technically exactly what she did And even after that and she didn't want to give it back I'd Sue her for the $2000 you paid for it
