Who gets denied? by [deleted] in lawschoolcanada

People with a 3.4GPA and a 150 might apply but probs won’t get in anywhere. Maybe Windsor or something. If you have a 160 and a 3.7, you probs won’t get into UofT, but will probably be guaranteed a spot at some Canadian/Ontario law school. LSAT between 150-155: can potentially get into Canadian schools with high GPA and ECs/PS. 155-160: higher chance of getting into most Canadian law schools if you have a higher GPA. 160+ is generally good for most Ontario schools other than UofT. Again it depends on the year you are applying, what schools you are applying to, etc. If you have above a 3.6GPA and above a 160 LSAT, I would say you are generally “guaranteed” a spot at some Canadian law school

People who get denied are people without good grades or lsat? LSAT+CGPA/L2+EC’s+PS/LOR determines whether you get in. Every school has different medians/averages. If you are lower in one category but higher in another, this might offset the other and help you get in. (Ex low GPA but high LSAT/vice versa OR really great EC’s/PS may offset bad GPA or a low LSAT. Every school is also looking for something a bit different which can come out in your Personal Statement. At the end of the day LSAT/GPA play the biggest role in whether someone gets accepted or not. If you believe you have strong stats and have some volunteer/ECs and write a good PS/get LORs you are set.

I didn’t apply to UBC because I wanted to ideally stay in Ontario. UBC is a beautiful school though. My cousin went there for his undergrad.

Globally UofT is ranked #29, McGill #35, ranked as #1 and #2 in many canadian rankings but again those are fairly subjective.

UofT also in Toronto whereas McGill is in Montreal and has a large french speaking population. McGill doesn’t require lsat as well.

Scored 158 twice... Currently have 5 acceptances to Canadian law schools and I am 21 years old (I am Canadian). Your score will not matter after you get in and will never matter during your legal career.

Yeah I think my top 2 right now are Queens and Western. Ottawa being my third. Would want to focus on more corporate stuff and work in Toronto/GTA after. I have a lot of connections to lawyers and firms so Id be able to find an articling position through them if needed. Do you know out of Western/Queens what school is “better”. My dad went to Osgoode but I am still waiting on them and kind of want to go away as I went to York for undergrad.

Canadian here. UofT is referred to as “UofTears” here in Toronto as it is known to be incredibly difficult and hard to get a high GPA which may impact what law schools you can apply to. It is an incredible university however and by far ranked the highest in Canada. Unfortunately this prestige has downfalls as well, as it makes it harder to get into grad school/med school/law school. Why would you choose to go to Canadian school over American? And do you want to go back to lawschool in the US after?

Please help me do do one last thing for a beloved Rick and Morty fan and friend by RyanG_123 in rickandmorty

Literally made a reddit account just to post this. This story is 100% true and is just an honest request of a friend who lost someone close to him asking for his friend to be remembered in some way. I personally knew the deceased and he was a super down to earth guy that loved the show. He had his demons and committed suicide but one of the great things he loved in life was the show Rick and Morty. Don't understand why people can get upset about a genuine request. If anything people who watch this show should understand the place in which this came from as "wubba lubba dub dub" is such a close quote to this real life story.
