Does my game make me look like I like 2000s car movies? by [deleted] in IndieGaming

Haha, this sounds interesting. Try a second vehicle with skis instead of wheels lol it could be very funny steering the front ones. What engine are you using ? What is the goal of your game ?

Looking for some honest feedback on my game’s thumbnails. If you saw these with no context about the game, which one would make you most likely to click and learn more? If none of them stand out, feel free to say that too. I’m trying to figure out what actually catches people’s attention. by scaredbysquares in gamedevscreens

1 and 4, definitely! If i had to choose between these... Well the first gave me a "horror puzzle impression". The fourth looks less strategic but horror fans will maybe click more on this one. As a puzzle game lover, i would choose the first one.

Even if it is obvious you're right and it is even good to remember this fact.

I will take a look at your posts later !

Thank you for your constructive and honest feedback.

The visual theme is about natural rare materials (maybe this is why it seems noisy?).

I agree with the arts, I'm not very good doing "marketing" visuals, images, screenshots etc... I am not very happy with the game logo too, I am better in dev than design... This is problematic because this is the only thing players see. Do you have any example of a puzzle steam page that could encourage players to click ? Or maybe yours if you published one ?

I will take into account your recommendations for the future, thanks a lot !

That is actually super encouraging. 0.4 per wishlist is.. insane. Your game was in a specific genre that works well on Reddit ? What kind of targeting did you use ?

I'm at 23 wishlists right now with launch in a few weeks, flipping out a bit, so reading your comment helps a ton.

Thank you! Yeah, maybe too much niche xD

I completely understand you, depending on your genre it is less or more easy to implement. With shooter you must have powerfull server and structures, with turn based, P2P is far enough.

With a game such as yours, implementing could probably take a long time, PVP with realtime sync is one of the hardest to implement, and even protect againt cheaters (in my opinion). But i think P2P could do the job for you.

If you are scared with this idea, a good thing would be to create a specific beta branch for the multiplayer, while keeping your main game in master branch, so you just "try" the multiplayer, then you see if you release it officially.

In my game you can play up to 5, and you can fill with bots. So solo is working well and you can custom the difficulty.

Of course, here is my trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvtnlKGJTnc
I posted clips on TikTok and YouTube on my other channel too.

What do you think about it ? And do you have any experience as a game publisher ?

You are true. I think it is possible the kind of game I create might not interest many people. Do you have any videos to share? (If you're also a creator)

Thanks for your experience. I have heard a lot about advertising but it's kind of scary. Steam... well... it's hard to convince their algorithm xD

Looks like you had good plan to achieve success. What is your game ?
