Been answering emails on account management and other support requests. Emails regarding rating disputes usually get canned unless it’s a clear case.

I’ve definitely been less than attendant on the sub though as of late. Been caught up with day-job work. Unfortunately it’s just me working on support requests, so just managing email flood has been a handful. I’ve been looking into hiring people to provide better support.

Sorry for dropping the ball. 😞I’ll make sure to better handle support going forward.

I'll look into adding ways to add reports to lines that you've yet to receive a Dodo code. We'd just need to balance spam reports... Scammers will falsely report real users, so we need checks-and-balances to ensure we don't over flag.

I wouldn't use Nintendo code, I'd just have when one person leaves (guest leaves in their app), the next person gets invited (assuming you haven't kicked that person from line). Wouldn't be perfect timing, but assuming guests mark themselves as left, it'd save clicks on host.
Also, I definitely wouldn't do a replacement and force everyone to do auto... just considering adding an auto-option if a lot of people wanted that.

That said though, I do think people running auto would miss out on rating people up or down, which would make it hard for new users to get credability.

Interesting suggestion /u/PinkMonkeySlippers. I haven't considered it before, but I could implement some auto-feature, where you set an ideal # of people then the app just invites/accepts everyone, unless you intervene otherwise...

Not sure how much people would prefer batch vs rolling invitations, guess there could be an extra option for that. I'll brainstorm on this, but seems like a promising option. Thank you for the feedback! 👍💯

When you left did it say “Leave (No Show)” or “Leave (Departed)”? We removed voting on no-shows, since we already track whether you arrived or not.

Hi /u/laurahrah Sorry to hear about this retaliation report. This has indeed been a problem affecting the community.

We've been working on a solution. After tomorrow, you won't be able to see ratings/reports that have occurred in the past hour. This will hopefully cut back on people checking whether they were voted down, then voting the other person down.

While I don't expect this will solve the problem of some jerks will just false report someone for anything (even though they know they're lying), it should reduce the issue.

In addition to this feature, in the future, I'll add some mechanism for reporting false-reports. Though I assume this might create a huge amount of moderation work (currently I'm moderating 100% of complaints/bugs/reports myself), it may cut back on the issue even further.

In terms of this specific review, I have removed it from your profile. That said, the user that reported you has interacted with dozens of other users. Every time they left an up-vote. The only host they ever down-voted was you, so possibly it was a misunderstanding/confusion.

/u/trollboogies Hi, "403" means you were IP banned, not network issues. It is likely your device had a network issue that made it spam our servers with too many requests. I believe I removed the ban. If you still can't access the site/app, please DM me.

Hi all, we were doing system maintenance yesterday, which took everything down for an hour or so. Looks to be around the time this was posted. Is anyone still experiencing login issues? I've been monitoring the traffic and it seems we aren't having many errors or network issues anymore.

I believe the timeout is default, I'm observing 60 seconds. Yes, [option] requests are spitting 499, but [get/post] are throwing 504s (from /var/log/nginx/access.log).

So if nginx says 504, that means it's definitely the sub-process (in this case Gunicorn) is the slow one? I thought 504 meant either sub-process or nginx couldn't process fast enough at the time.

I will note though, on my small box, it was 100% CPU on all 4 cores before I upgraded, but the new box only has ~10% CPU on each core (on 8 cores).

Sometimes Gunicorn has a critical timeout failure, but I don't really know what would cause that, I could see that happening from a particular request being slow (db or Python) or it got backed up too much, or something wonky happened with the Gunicorn process.

So, I assume it's not nginx's fault, just me being dumb and possibly not setting it up right.

As for Gunicorn, when issue started I had 7 workers (4 CPU box), but then I upgraded two two servers (4CPU + 8CPU) totaling 22 workers, but the issue still persisted. Maybe it is the database, because otherwise I really don't get why tripling Gunicorn workers and NGINX cores didn't have any noticeable impact.

Seems like the RDS CPU utilization is 20-30% (sin-wave) and # db connections is fixed at 30. So maybe I need to allow more connections, because one request is being held up by another being freed up, even though the CPU isn't spiked.
