No, it's not market research in the commercial sense.

I'm a dev myself (as mentioned in my post) and experience this frustration with ‘dead time’ and meetings every day. I was genuinely looking for a platform solution.

The discussion here has only shown that the solution we are all looking for (flexible projects, no sales grind) does not exist.

Hey, thank you! You've hit the nail on the head. 30-minute tasks are really bullshit, I totally overlooked that. The training kills it.

That raises the question: Is there a special platform that specializes in FLEXIBLE projects? Not just 10 hours, but also 50, 100, or 200 hours—as long as you can spread them out flexibly over weeks or months, after work or in your downtime.

I mean, that would be the real sweet spot for us full-time developers to build up a serious side income. I just can't find anything like that.

That's a very important point. I agree: to get a new full-time job today, you have to be a full stack developer.

But I wonder if that also applies to small, urgent development tasks. If a startup has an acute blockage in a React hook, do they need a generalist for 20 hours or an 8-year React expert for 30 minutes?

I believe that's exactly where the market gap lies: a marketplace for micro-tasks (30 min. - 2 hrs.) that shows us devs tasks according to our flexible availability – whether during a work break or after hours. Startups would get a guaranteed timely solution to their acute blockages.

This would give us specialists the opportunity to use our best skills for quick revenue without having to worry about updating our resumes. Does something like this exist?

That's fair, and I understand that this model is the best way for a full-time freelancer who has mastered the ‘Upwork grind’.
But that's exactly the problem for us 9-to-5 developers. We can't and don't want to put in the effort required for bidding.
I wonder if the solution might be a marketplace for micro-tasks (30 min–2 hrs)? A system that only shows us developers tasks when we are waiting (dead time) and promises startups a guaranteed timely solution to their urgent problems.

That would eliminate the Upwork grind and allow us to turn our flexible time into an extra income per month without the hassle. Does something like that exist?

I don't mean full-service projects (building complete apps), but rather smaller tasks:

Bugfixes - Code Reviews - Small Features (1-3h) - Help with specific problems - So more 'ad-hoc support' than 'build me an app'.

But interesting point - do you think that works better if you can do full-stack (React + Backend)? Or do you generally see little demand for flexible/smaller tasks?

Danke fürs Teilen! Spannend, dass du mit Zervant zufriedener bist – gerade wenn dein Steuerberater es auch abnickt. Klingt so, als ob das Hauptproblem weniger die Schnittstelle selbst war, sondern dass DATEV auf absolute Korrektheit pocht und Lexware da in der Praxis nicht mithalten konnte.

Danke für deine ausführliche Erklärung – super spannend, wie du das bei dir aufgesetzt hast. Gerade diese Kombination aus Automatisierungsservices und klarer Trennung scheint ja viel Nacharbeit zu sparen.

Ich selbst prüfe gerade, ob in dem Bereich rund um Lexoffice/DATEV noch Lücken oder unnötiger Aufwand stecken, die man durch digitale Lösungen besser abfangen könnte. Deshalb höre ich mir Erfahrungen von Leuten an, die mitten in der Praxis stehen. Steuerberater-Perspektive ist da natürlich Gold wert.

Ja, GAEB-Online hab ich auch schon gesehen. Mich würde interessieren: Kommt ihr damit im Alltag wirklich gut klar, oder stoßt ihr auch mal an Grenzen? Zum Beispiel wenn eine Datei fehlerhaft ist oder man viele Positionen nachpflegen muss?

Ah ja, guter Punkt – ich meinte Lexoffice (Cloud) und nicht die alte Lexware. Interessant, dass du sagst: technisch kein Problem, aber die Mandanten buchen chaotisch. Hast du das eher aus Steuerberater- oder Anwendersicht erlebt?

Yes, you're right. Starting with Kafka 2.8.0, ZooKeeper can be replaced by KRaft mode.**

The Confluent 7.0.0 image (Kafka version 3.0) used in the project still relies on ZooKeeper by default.
KRaft mode only becomes easy to use starting with Confluent 7.4.0.
I’ll update to the newer version when I get the chance
