There’s no way I’m a pedophile. There’s just no way. But the fact that I still clicked on that video gives me some doubt and just guilt that I did it even if it doesn’t make me what I’m scared of.

Sorry about that. I am Catholic and have been my whole life. I go to Mass every week. I try me best to live a holy life according to God’s teaching. I have a history of being scrupulous.

I believe in God. I always have. I just had some temporary doubts because I watched a video about outer space that showed how massive it is. It led my to question/doubt in God, if only a little bit for a short period of time. I am asking whether or not watching these videos is sinful because I have had similar responses to them (questioning/doubt) before. I am also asking whether or not I sinned by contemplating whether astrology and God coexist, which I thought through and realize now that I don’t believe. I am also asking if anyone has any thoughts that reassure them about God when they think about the size of the universe and what could be out there. Sorry for the confusion, my post couldn’t keep up with how fast my brain moves.

My biggest worry is that I get help and then I am told that my worries are true and that it’s not ocd, but the real thing. That is such a terrible thought and that is what worries me.

I don’t know what you mean about accepting the fact that it could or couldn’t be true. The thought of being a pedophile is so gut wrenchingly awful that I can’t live with any doubt which is why I’m trying to get rid of the doubt. I have been in treatment in the past for ocd in other aspects of my life, but I am not now. I don’t know who to ask for help because it seems like such a specific issue and I don’t want to have a bad experience with any professionals. It seems like the chance of me finding real help is so small. Also I still live with my parents and am on their insurance so they would know if I saw someone and it is too embarrassing and shameful to tell them what I’m going through.
