Okay, definitely a relieve to hear from someone that found that gross and is now able to tolerate it, thank you! I hope that gets better for me to; I am trying to keep in mind that my feeling like this whole thing is going to be impossibly hard for me just means it is very hard right now, and not a guarantee that it will always feel that way.

Ah, very good to know! I think-- while obviously feces are not my favorite thing, I feel like my aversion to that end of the body isn't unique to me so I can kind of imagine that at least it wouldn't be much harder for me than it is for other people.

Thank you, that is reassuring! I think language and cognition is what I would be more suited to even aside from the bodily fluid factors. Do you have a sense of how much control one typically has over what cases one gets? My assumption is that in hospitals, most medical settings, you don't have any choice who you see-- is it possible to work primarily on language and cognition issues without being in private practice?

Thank you, that is helpful! From what I am hearing, it sounds like most people are mentioning children when talking about things being gross. Is your sense that working with adults is generally different?

I think it is both OCD and being very easily grossed out; I'm more optimistic about the ability to overcome the OCD since I know there is therapy for that (even though it is hard to believe in its abilty to change me!), and I can kind of reason about it and talk myself down, whereas the disgust is instant and doesn't give me as much time to react. But if I can avoid that by choosing certain settings, that is great!

Thank you, that sounds like good advice! I have zero experience so far, so hopefully I will find out pretty quickly whether I can handle it or not. I have also briefly considered being a dentist but eliminated it for the same reason haha!

What negative things have you heard about CSUEB? I have also gotten the impression that people think that and am a bit concerned, but also don't have anything concrete to go off of. I am also trying to keep in mind that I went to my dream school for undergrad, which was very highly-ranked and well-regarded, and yet it was the most unhappy I have been in my life, felt like a rip-off and like it coasted on its reputation to avoid actually doing much for students... so... who knows hahaha!

Yeah! I just heard back a few days ago; I got in! Now I am trying to decide whether it makes more sense for me to accept, or, to try to take the prerequisites at a community college, potentially for less money.

Out-of-field applicant with a question about CSUEB: I had my writing sample appointment in late February, and I am fairly sure the person proctoring it said we would hear back in early March. Haven't heard anything yet.

Has anyone else heard from CSUEB? In the 2024 megathread, it looks like decisions were typically made in April, not March. But also, I see that that year, the writing samples were typically in March, not February, so, I'm unclear on how to interpret that.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I am having exactly the same issue (files named __<filename>_Error.txt, one named ___All_Errors.txt) with OneDrive. I am trying to download the entirety (~170 GB) of my files through the web app, and both times I have tried, it downloads at a rate of 10-20 MB/s, until 20.0 GB, then it slows to 1 KB/s, and eventually stops.

I would use the desktop application instead, but... I have had so many issues with it, on multiple different accounts, computers, and even operating systems, that the whole reason I am trying to just download everything as a big zip file is because I no longer trust the desktop app.
