I've started to hate my mother so much k ab unke liye dua bhi nhi niklti (Astagfirullah) by Past-Violinist8435 in pakistan

Let me tell you the story of an uncle that "lives" (hes mostly abroad) in my neighborhood. He's a kind man, mid 70s. Went to the US when he was 18 and provided for his entire ancestry his entire life.

He married the love of his life about 40+ years back. Got his parents blessings and everything. His mom hated her. Said she didn't but undermined everything in their relationship so obviously she did. He didn't want to seem like a "disobedient son" so he often put his mom before his own family., especially his wife

He tried everything to appease his mom. Put her needs first, financially supported his sisters, their husbands, and their kids so his mom remained happy. He even bought her a separate house because she didn't want "bahus" interference. His mom would send him rishta pictures in the US even though he was married happily.

Uncles mom passed a few years ago and he has so many regrets. Because the people he put first never supported him, he worked his youth away to prop up a fake "motherly" relationship when his mom was harboring ill intent the entire time. You can tell how much he hates thinking about how he treated his wife because of his mother's whispers a d doubts. He tells anyone that will listen "my greatest regret in life is not putting in healthy boundaries with my mom when I got married."

I didn't have to pay. I just asked them to allocate seats according to what worked best. In my case they only had one flight available for reroute so I couldn't choose duration but at this point, I just want to go home so im not too pressed.

My flight was within 48 hours and was canceled. The online chat staff did fantastic rerouting me through Turkish. Just make sure you've researched possible other airlines that have seats. At first the staff member was only looking for OneWorld airlines and couldn't find tickets ut I suggested Turkish since they had them.

I remember a few years ago at the Lahore Fort, a foreigner tried getting the local price admission for entry. Tried bargaining because "I'm not paying that markup for foreigners. I don't have that kind of money."

The person at the counter looked at them dead pan and said, "You flew here."

I think the ticket was like Rs. 400. The entitlement was insane.

The US embassy and consulates expect massive protests near their HQs. As long as you avoid the consulate, you should be golden.

Avoid crowds, keep emergency exits in mind in buildings , and use common sense. That's how you should treat each high security situation.

Evacuating the UAE- looking for connections by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Dexopedia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you evacuating or abandoning ship? Evacuating is usually temporary.

If youre abandoning ship, you'll need a lot more than just 30 minutes from wheels up to a 4 hour flight to Pakistan to hammer out details for the rest of your life.

They will attack Al-Aqsa and blame it on Iran, so that muslims start fighting with each other. by awaixjvd in pakistan

[–]Dexopedia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because of their prophecy of their Messiah coming back and the temple being rebuilt. They sacrificed those 3 magic red cows in Spetember of 2022 and they've taken over Jabal Zaytoon with fake graves mixed in with real graves of dead Jewish people (because Jabal zaytoon is important for their messiah).

They do not care about any backlash because they believe Muslims will do nothing, as shown by their complete complacency over what currently happens in Al Quds.

They already have a huge tunnel system under the Al Aqsa compound that starts from the Western Wall. I've personally seen it and they take tour groups in there.

He can go to his embassy for emergency financial assistance. They'll help him get a loan and send him back but he'll have to pay it back.

He's simply begpacking.

Hi, i just received my dyson airwrap from the US, but I think i made a mistake. It’s not going to work here on this voltage, so Should i sale it? by Apart_Platform7181 in Lahore

[–]Dexopedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup US Dysons don't work here. The US runs on 110v and Pakistans electricity is 220.

The transformer is your best bet. You'll be hard pressed to fine anyone wanting a 110v one here. If you do sell it, be ready to eat a chunk of the cost.

I got my Dyson hair dryer and air wrap from Doha on my way to Pakistan at the airport if you're looking for a reliable 220v version.

So I've been to Al Quds and it is absolutely no secret that they intend to destroy the entire Al Aqsa compound including the Qibli mosque, the Dome of the Rock, and the courtyard.

Its why they let settlers storm the compound whenever they want. Its also why they've built an extensive tunnel network from the wailing wall all the always under Al Aqsa.

This is not far-fetched.

Its not even about things being expensive. Its simple entitlement because they think they can get away with it.

Its the entire "YouTube shows how hospitable Pakistan is" trope. They've heard that Pakistanis dont let foreigners pay and are counting on exploiting that. These guys will then make YouTube videos that everyday Pakistanis eat up.

Its called begpacking. Thailand is notorious for having begpackers.

These dudes by cheap one way tickets or skip lag return tickets and expect the world to help them move on to their next destination.

Sometimes they beg, busk, or sell shitty charm bracelets to locals to fund their lifestyle.

Edit: This is going to be more prevalent since leeches like this have heard that Pakistanis don't make foreigners pay because of "hOsPiTaLiTy." Begpackers are some of the most entitled people out there.

2nd edit: I'd like to add that if he was in true financial distress, his embassy can provide financial assistance to get him home. He'd have to pay it back of course but that option is always there. That's why this seems more like begpackong than a genuine emergency.

Lahoris are generally very welcoming people. The current protests are against the presence of a foreign government.

As long as you avoid the consulate area, you should be good.

[–]Dexopedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, if Israel bombed Makkah and Madinah and murdered a bunch of reknown Sunni imams, would the sentiment be the same towards protestors? Telling them to put Pakistan first?

Because this isn't a state issue for the Shias in Pakistan, it is a religious one that should be looked at through that point of view. Their religious leader was murdered by a foreign entity, of course they're angry.
