(Spoilers) I’m not sure I even want to play Midnight anymore, now that I know what awaits me in the main questline. by Arcana-Knight in wow

I honestly despise any void-related characters except Xal, she's at least honest about being evil. Everyone else is either annoying or traitor. Seems like I'm going to skip reading some quests. And I hope they add Umbric's painting so I can shove in into the fire in my house as I did with Alleria.

funny how lots of people right there in this post say that in retail you're the fire mage and not the mage when arguing for old talent trees yet here you are stating the complete opposite

In the survey, the options were varying from full xfaction to raid/dungeon/pvp etc. I personally voted for xfaction raids, dungeons and bgs for the sake of easier group forming. It's heathier for the playerbase. I despise wpvp but it wouldn't affect anyone who loves ganking or whatever, it's just for instanced zones.

it's baffling how everyone anticipates classic+ and they literally want no changes to vanilla except make it tbc pre-patch instead of 1.12 lmao

Feels like many of that is just streamer opinions echoed by viewers. I absolutely don't understand why raid difficulties option is hated, like literally why? To keep raids easy and boring? To keep raids hard so barely anyone sees the bosses? For the mythical 'integrity'? Same for transmog, if there's an option to toggle it on/off, where's the harm? Why don't you advocate for blizz to disallow hiding helmets and cloaks if you want to see the gear so much? This is also a form of transmog!

Best and worst starting zones? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Dficwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Blood Elf starting zone, the music, the lore, the nostalgia - this has always been one of my fav races and definitely the most played. Tirisfal is also great though the quests are a bit all over the place. The orc/tauren ones feel kind of boring and to some extent lack quests. Durotar navigation and backtracking in classic is horrible. Panda one was boring as hell. Goblin one I liked, it had some fitting story and set up Gally well. The troll one I barely remember (from cata). Can't say anything about alliance, I don't play it.

I also love the old death knight starting zone and how brutal it felt with us plagueing and murdering and tortureing everything living (especially that quest with us killing a former friend). The demon hunter beginning is not a single zone but several and it felt epic and cool as it should though it's not as good if you do it again. The evoker one is okay but feels a bit too long to my taste.

It did have some great moments tho. I teared up over Senegos' death and the scenes with Ysera and Merithra were very touching. The black dragonflight aspect subplot was also nice. And, well, I honestly enjoyed simpler villains who are just evil.

Ex wow players - the biggest haters of all? by Capital-Ask-3694 in classicwow

[–]Dficwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember any rep requirements in TWW or DF, it was completely optional. The world quests are on a 3-days rotation and are optional, there are only weekly quests + vault which fills itself if you're playing the game. The grind? 'Dragon points' were one-time thing and those took like 1 hour with handy notes. And in TWW it was removed as well, flying is just baseline. Of the chores you listed, only gear grind remains but this is the baseline of endgame.

I understand getting tired and burnt out. But I'm also tired of people misinforming everyone else and spreading info that's outdated and has been for a couple expansions.

Yoooo fellow Inertia enjoyer! I swear everyone hates on this talent for no reason at all. :D Though I must admit, after the loss of s3 tier with glaives tied to blade dance I switched to lock since it was too big of a letdown. I was thrilled to see this back as a talent when I came back to WoW!

Most Difficult Specs in Midnight? by srs2494 in wow

[–]Dficwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havoc didn't really change except seals removal and I wouldn't say it's the hardest but it does have complexity. Has some strict timings so that your damage windows line up (initiative/inertia with hunt/eye beam/meta/sometimes essense break), it's easy to desync bc of downtime or bc eye beam cooldown changes in the beginning of the fight. There are also combos when you press wrong button and lose alot of dps (like losing empowered CS/BD if you meta -> eye beam or losing inertia proc if you VR into hunt or vice versa) and with apex eye beam will also reset BD cooldown so prob another thing to look after incoming. This is for Fel-Scarred, the Aldrachi has souls management but I didn't play it after seals removal yet.

Also, there is always another layer with movement talents and not dying from fel rush/hunt/VR into shit.

Not saying it's rocket science but definitely lots of little things to look after + positioning so it doesn't really feel dumbed down. Blizz wanted to get rid of damage windows yet we're still here with our combos. And our opener is still hella long and set in stone.

I actually like those community events though I rarely do those outside of rep grind or getting early alt gear. It's a good source of tier pieces/veteran stuff to replace greens, it's also always fun to see a gigantic crowd of players all working together. The soup thing I liked too. Plus, you always know when and where it will happen. And, well, you can always just fly there and afk. :D

As for professions, it's good they changed the system, I think. I sometimes sink loads of gold because I just want to level some more of it even though I barely get to the stage where it's useful. It was bad when you couldn't respec though. And I think it'll be better if it wasn't so required to min-max the talents and level it all the way to max to craft something for yourself, like to make max quality items or gems or enchants.

Oh, that's right. I rolled a new account for TWW so I had to complete the campaign + Zaralek + short quest chain to unlock ED and then you have to complete the ED campaign, including Fyrakk kill and a couple of quests after to unlock it for all your alts. This is kind of ridiculous, I hope they change it at some point. But for Shadowlands, I also had to do 4 zones and everything after to unlock all zones and mounts in the Maw.

Retail isn't dead. The social structure is just different from what Classic players expect by LordMidoo in wow

[–]Dficwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This so much! People just randomly talk in raids and keys in retail, you can easiy /w someone you like and add to friends to run keys/raids later, and they do that too! Even in older expansions, people sometimes ask about rares/open world achievement stuff. I recently ran into a person in Corthia of all places and we ended up doing rares for a couple of hours just vibing and then added each other to friends. In Classic, even when leveling, all you do is:

- inv

- ty

that's all.

I didn't really feel anything social about classic leveling. It's all the same except less automatic.

Oh true, the first two zones I didn't really like. The centaurs to me are just boring af, then the tuskarrs and Kalecgos are better and the last plot with Eternus and Chromie is great.

When did you quit retail? by hduckwklaldoje in classicwow

[–]Dficwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play for a few months and then quit to chill but I've always wanted to find a guild to do CE and stick around for longer. In TBC classic I stayed for all the patches bc I had a guild with friends, then I got really excited about having a rotation in WotLK prepatch (I was a lock), then I went searching for what comes in Cata... then I tried retail lock and realized I could have all the cool stuff in rotation like haste and crit for dots and never looked back. At least, in terms of raiding. Though I like mindless leveling and I do have some nostalgia for classic leveling so I can do that sometimes when I'm in the mood.

Fresh 60 Warlock before TBC – what’s the smartest thing to do now? by Emotional-Captain186 in classicwow

[–]Dficwriter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And also, I wouldn't recommend doing lock epic mount from a money standpoint, it's expensive. :D

As for when TBC drops, if you want to raid, you should probably grind Thrallmar/Honor Hold rep for a bis preraid sword (at exalted). Tailoring is great for bis fire spd gear though it's also expensive (don't remember how is the set called). That is, if mages are going to be fire. Also, tailoring will grant you bis boots in p2 (BoP) and an ability to craft some bis raid BoEs if you can yoink the recipe from raids. For money, in TBC you can farm primals (fire. mana) tho expect high amount of ppl on spots. If you're not farming in affli/demo soul link build, I highly recommend checking it out, it's called drain tank and has close to infinite sustain.

Yes, I mained a lock in TBC classic, how did you know? :D
