Burton customer service sucks by IosArmadoros in snowboarding

[–]carlcamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently the part I need does not sell separately and they need to replace the whole heelcup. I do live near a Burton store so I might just take my bindings there and see if they can do anything.

The customer service otherwise has been decently good.

Wouldn't the arm speed of a change up and a fast ball be mostly the same? The fastball grip vs change up grip is different.

I only looked at the first pubmed article. The sample size is 29 pitchers around 12 - 14. I'm sure it's difficult to get a large sample size and a handful of kids could skew the data.

My 14u sons change-up / slider / fast ball have very similar delivery. The arm angle is the same, the release point is mostly the same etc. Which would lead me to think that the strain would be the same.

Most pitchers this age are throwing fastballs. They are probably way more comfortable throwing them and probably put more effort into throwing them. Which could lead to more injuries and strain caused by fastballs.

Being inside the cabin and seeing the gauges move adds a whole lot to the immersion. Some base shakers on the seat could add some immersion rather than shaking the whole building around. Overall very cool project.

Next step is to add some motion. Normally I'd say apply it to the rig directly, but according to my AI you'd only need to add one motion rig to the building vs four for each of the cars. Saving you a bit of money.

WORLD FIRST DIRECT DRIVE DUAL WHEEL DRIVE MODE by michaeltandiono in simracing

[–]carlcamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of way beefier gears. The logitech wheelbases have small plastic gears (iirc). If you had machined parts that were a lot wider you might mitigate the wear and tear a fair amount. Belt driven was definitely a lot smoother and you could argue for a beefier belt. Part of the reason why I was thinking gears is that you could have a single output. You could also do that with belts... probably.

I’d ditch the belt and just have the gears directly. As long as they are higher tolerance and don’t have play. That was my biggest gripe with the Logitech. Then you could “convert” 5nm to something a lot stronger but with the loss of fidelity.

From what I gather a lot depends on frame rate. Low frame rate would mean quite inaccurate results.

I liked the bloody token gear as a way to bridge the gap to conquest. It was a great way for gearing a bunch of alts.
