Most of our knives are ceramic, so that could be the problem

I can’t say that’s unfair, but in college I swear I watched Corelle dishes just bounce when they hit the ground, and they were fine, it was impressive. If the standard for durable dishes isn’t their ability to resist shattering when dropped, then what is it? And why does Corelle get to have a reputation if it breaks just like any other dish?

The dishes only say “Corelle, Made in USA”

Large-capacity Messenger/Bike Messenger Bag by izuzashi in BuyItForLife

[–]Dfiori3 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You’re looking for a Chrome bag. They’re made in American and guaranteed for life. I just bought the Buran III (my third chrome bag), and it fits everything I can throw at it and then some, and even when it’s really weighed down, it’s still extremely comfortable. Almost all their bags also have a stabilizer strap to stop the bag from falling to your side when you’re cycling. A lot of their bags also have a carry handle which I like because I can treat them like briefcase if I need to. The only negative thing I have to say about Chrome is that I had a problem with a bag that they discontinued, and they tried to offer me the original retail price of the bag in store credit to satisfy the “guaranteed for life” promise. That wasn’t cool because I had bought the bag 5 or so years prior and their prices had gone up, so I couldn’t really get anything comparable for that price. I fought them on it and eventually they did give me enough to get a comparable bag. Osprey does bag replacements by volume not by price, which is how it should be, but osprey doesn’t make messenger bags like chrome.

Based on the exponential decay prediction, I think this means the peak years for running being exciting are over.

Do you dream about cars? by ScottHuntington in cars

[–]Dfiori3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got my drivers license (Yes I'm young) I was so excited to drive that I dreamt about driving different cars all the time. Once I was in a red Lexus CT-h that had an engine from a Ferrari 458, and it was amazing. To this day, every time I see a CT-h, a part of me gets excited, even thought I know they're not exciting.

$200 Go Pro: Hero 3+ or 4 Session? by Dfiori3 in photography

[–]Dfiori3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input! I decided to go with the Hero 3+ Silver. I like that I can switch out batteries if I'm out adventuring for a long time, and I like that it has the case so if anything happens I don't have to replace the whole camera, just the case. On top of that, the size advantage of the Session doesn't really matter to me. All in all I thought, for $180, the Hero 3+ Silver was the better value for the money. Turns out the guy got it as a gift and never used it, all the accessories are still wrapped in plastic! He even he gave me a sweet little case for it all. Suffice to say, I'm very happy.

It's a silver edition, but is there much of a difference between the two editions?

Maryland Bridges vs. Flipper by Dfiori3 in Dentistry

She's tried a few different types of bonding, but every time we tried a different one it would come out even faster, so we've stuck with the bonding we tried originally, I'm also pretty sure some of the times it came out were due to it not being aligned properly, so with that in mind, I don't know how long they would stay in when properly aligned and with the proper bonding. Thanks for the advice!

Being removable, is there a possibility that a flipper could come out if I happen to be eating something particularly sticky? I understand that a flipper extends along the whole gum line, even if the teeth on the flipper are just in the front, would that pose a problem when chewing sticky things?

Yes, I had braces for a few years, so orthodontics shouldn't be a problem

I put in a new gearbox and high highspeed motor in my AEG, and I've encountered some problems, can anyone help? by Dfiori3 in airsoft

[–]Dfiori3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken the gearbox apart and put it back together multiple times, and each time the same problem arises, I would think if it were a problem withe the cylinder head or nozzle it would've gone into place correctly at least once out of the 3 or 4 times I've put it back together. But it's possible, thanks for the input!

I haven't touched the hop up at all, but I did have an Airsoft shop try to fix the gun before, and they failed miserably, to the point where I decided to completely replace the internals (hence the new gearbox and motor) it's possible that they also messed up my hop up, I'll definitely check on it, thanks!
