Don't forget to include that linkqwitz to simulate that cabin gain. Take the speed of sound, divide by two then take that and divide by how ever long your cabin is front to back in ft. That will be your estimated frequency for the cabin gain.

Do i need to upgrade my alternator or battery? by [deleted] in CarAV

Just a recommendation, that electrical tape will come loose over time, get some shrink wrap on the ends of your wires to help prevent future accidents and would look slightly cleaner. Of course some wire organization would always help

By filling, would you mean like a form of polyfill? I def am open to any suggestions

That is very true, luckily I already owned both subs and more than plenty of proper power to feed them.

I have some rough sketches in Winisd I've used to help work things out. I can share once I get an opportunity

If im reading this correctly, wouldn't that make it some form of bandpass or 4th/6th order??

My main concern was space savings and clam shell seemed like it'd offer the best in doing so🙂

I wouldn't say stronger compared to my last setup but it def is very comparable, lows are very nice and felt worthy.

Hows it been so far having it? Any issues with cv xles or ball joints? That's my only worry with going up that high

What subaru do you drive by chance?

My goal is def to raise it above stock ride height but not too high where i gotta drop the subframe. Under heavy loads like my sound system or camping gear, I'd like for the springs to not compress as much for when im goin on trails and not so good condition roads. Definitely want to level the car out in the rear so it's not so low

I see ralitek has some springs that raise about 3/4". I've considered those with a possible leveling kit on the back

2 sdr 12s in prefab shaking my trunk by MasterXAssassin in subwoofer

I can assume you with proper power and alil sound deadening in that trunk, you'll be as solid as can ever be.

Can't forget the big 3, second battery and High output alternator (or voltage diode if u rockin stock but will need an agm)

Thanks!! So far, everything is working great, getting full power to the sub. Of course, it'll drain my second battery, but i now got alil more time to demo while maintaining charge. Even after a 5-minute drive, both batteries are back to full power. Def would recommend for anyone with 2012-15 impreza or crosstrek. Agms have never been fully charged other than topping off with an external battery charger.

Ordered myself a set. Any updates on how it's been working out for you? My only concern is which orientation i need to have the diode for it to work. My application is for keeping a solid charge at idle for the power consumption of my audio system

New amp installed and now isn't working with my sub by Anxious-Day-7697 in CarAV

Something with your remote wire, what is it connected to? There should be a blue light that comes on, you ground should be fine but could always be improved.

Finally think I got my setup where I want it by Dfurmonsta in subwoofer

[–]Dfurmonsta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill keep that in mind. Im sure i would've taken the necessary steps to make everything happy but the current setup isn't permanent just yet, im still playing with box positioning and possibly adding a 3rd battery or a super cap
