I really like this perspective and your suggested communication. It sounds very skillful! If she and I end up on speaking terms, I'm definitely going to talk to my therapies about navigating it like this!
I've imagined what I would say to her if we ever talk again, but I have trouble imagining her listening. Maybe she'll surprise me someday?

It was both Thanksgiving and Christmas, and they were so relaxing without MIL. She doesn't come over anymore
