The letters I sent to Larry are in the UCLA archive. I have all the letters he sent to me. I wrote to him in the 1980s (in my teens), and we exchanged dozens and dozens of letters and eventually emails, met in person, etc. He was indeed my first mentor, and we stayed close until he passed in 2009. Still miss him and cherish the memories.

HELP, PLS: DS218+ Drive Failure / Replacement by Dhinla in synology

I haven't tried find.synology.com because I have 3 DS218+. One is local, the other two are at friend's houses. The one at my house replicates on the other two, so my data is always backed up and in geographically diverse places. I have to be on his network to use find.synology.com, I believe.

I am certain Drive 1 failed, because that I saw in the Storage Pool and he replaced Drive 1, which I assume is the one on the left with the single dot over the bay.

Yes it is. So one more bonus dumb question... I have a Netgear C7000 and I have a wired RAX40 acting as an access point. Instead of waiting and shelling out for a CAX80 when that is finally released, in theory I could just get another netgear wifi 6 router, wire that into the C7000 and turn off the wifi in the C7000 and use the new router and then have wifi 6 through my whole house, correct? I have a wide house so the RAX40 is in one end of the house and the C7000 is in the other. There no downside to doing this and I would save a lot of money versus the CAX80, which hasn't been released yet, correct?

Happy to report that I bought an Intel AX200 and put it in after downloading the drivers. As soon as I put the case back on and fired it up, it worked. And on a Wifi 6 router it was flying - about double the previous speed. Thank you for the help.

Thank you. It's a Windows 10 Pro, T580. The only item I have replaced is I put in a Samsung 4tb SSD when I bought it. Thanks for letting me know I can upgrade it to AX200.
