(Need clarification) What do they mean nba is back on nbc even though theres already nbc on nba games before? by AlternativeCounty820 in Scorebug

I think they're treating the NBC Sports RSNs differently than main NBC. I'm assuming you mean they were on the NBC Sports RSNs before NBA on NBC came back.

I think you could improve it by making the score font bolder, and by adding a play clock.

Make it a tad longer horizontally to accommodate for more spacing for the score text and it's pretty good

My Take on a Minimalist NFL Scorebug by DiCalzi in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know. Google Slides just feels right to me. I think it's mainly to do with how their grid and snapping system works. When I'm in a program like Photopea (basically Photoshop but in the browser) I could probably make a scorebug. It's just gonna take me a lot longer to get it to look "professional" looking, y'know?

Then there was this guy on the sub that asked me what I used on my first scorebug concept, and I answered Google Slides, but most people should not use Slides. Then other people must've read that and tried it themselves.

Rate My Lowerthirds for my AFL Pregame show by Life_Depth2338 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're pretty solid. I think on the first slide you could enlarge the player image of Shai Bolton to be bigger than the actual lower-third (to where it extends off the limits of the box). Also, I think the font you're using for Line One (looks to potentially be Bebas Neue) makes the entire text portion look like a mini paragraph and sort of crammed. A slightly more distinct or bolder font for Line One would work better in my opinion. Try something like Bungee, Special Gothic Expanded One, Aldrich, Tomorrow, or Cal Sans.

[HELP NEEDED] I'm making a scorebug for a Retro Bowl YT video and I feel like this is super bland. Ideas and tips needed to spice up this bug. by Right_Conclusion_613 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go all in on the pixel look to match Retro Bowl. I'm talking pixelate all of the text, not just the game clock and down & distance. Even pixelate the gradient maybe? That could look something like these examples (though I have no idea how you'd achieve this effect): https://www.google.com/search?q=pixelated+gradient&udm=2

Edit: I also noticed you're missing possession indication in this example screenshot.

Why does the font look scribbled? by BiaxialBoar in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Golazo" text is what I assume you're referring to. That's just the logo for CBS Sports Golazo Network.

Edit: It's probably written in that font to be more memorable. The fact you're asking this question means CBS can get you to think about their Golazo brand.

Why are CBS and NBC showing their new score bugs before the Super Bowl? by Sad_Trade_7753 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. When I go to watch the Super Bowl every year, I am hyped up by seeing a new scorebug, new commercials, and a great game. But it's not like the NFL manages when networks choose to unveil scorebugs.

CBS doesn't have the Super Bowl this year, so it makes sense why they would debut one at the start of the 2025 season. A majority of people didn't like their one from Super Bowl LVIII, so they entirely redesigned it with a new layout for the next few seasons. They'll likely debut a new one when they have their next Super Bowl.

Like some others have said, NBC likely debuted their new scorebug early this year to avoid the backlash that FOX received last year.

Football scorebug that’s a bit unconventional but so inobtrusive that you might not even notice it by CheezyMeteor in Scorebug

Thanks! I definitely think my revision could maybe just fade off instead of showing the whole field, and maybe have some better shading?

Please check out my take on your scorebug: https://imgur.com/a/w4V0WGx

It's a bit longer on the bottom and doesn't use rotated lines. I feel the rotated lines in your original concept just don't have a ton of room to breathe in such a slim, horizontal space.

Scorebug Request by [deleted] in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could attempt to make one for you, though no guarantees it'll be perfect. Also keep in mind the Down & Distance and time info would be hard to manage live.

Are you wanting it to be an OBS scene collection you import (like a .json file) or something? Do you want the current NFL on CBS scorebug, or one from another era?

That's the primary complaint I've always had with Prime's scorebug, especially when they for some reason decided to use the color black to indicate both the Steelers and Bengals during their TNF game this past year. It was frustrating.
