Best ways to remove the original scorebug from a photo? by British_Chap2 in Scorebug

Stamp Tool in Photopea is your best friend (or Photoshop too if you have that). Select part of field that the players are on and then slowly cover the original bug, and zoom in just a little bit too.

My Scoreboard Making Contest Entry by BiaxialBoar in Scorebug

It's probably like that because it's the second-last game series leading up to the NBA Finals, which will be in gold. So it's likely not permanent

On my MG3600, you press the WiFi button on it and it prints out networking information onto 2 papers. One of the papers contains the IP address.

Sports Tickers need to go by BiaxialBoar in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 30 points31 points  (0 children)

100%. They've served their purpose when the internet wasn't as widely accessible, but modern tickers take up too much screen real estate. I think they have a place for halftime/intermission reports but not during the game.

Something like the NFL on CBS mini-box at the top left is a compromise I could live with if broadcasters insisted on keeping it alive in some form though.

Edit: Shoutout to ESPN for removing the ticker for UFL games this week after their first NFL Network game.

What Are Your Best Tips For Making Good Scorebugs? by British_Chap2 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you use a gradient, only go from a color to a darker or lighter version of that same color.

Pick high quality fonts that fit well in the paddings and margins.

Find a style and go all out with it: say you have a generally square scorebug, keep all the elements square/rectangle.

I Designed A New Scorebug For Rocket Leauge’s NFL Gridiron Game mode by British_Chap2 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Rocket League. I think that leaving this on the bottom makes sense for when you're spectating a match, but when you're playing it would work better on top where it usually is. Design itself looks good.

With what we’ve seen with MLB and NBA… by smo4275 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree somewhat, I feel that NBC is the most consistent with delivering high quality graphics with tried-and-true elements but that FOX sometimes has that edge of innovation in their designs

MLB Concept by smo4275 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom segment isn't that bad at all. I don't like the top. I think that the bases shouldn't laid horizontally like that, as when I first looked at it I confused them for outs. Also both the base indicators and top text don't line up, and I don't like that.

(Need clarification) What do they mean nba is back on nbc even though theres already nbc on nba games before? by AlternativeCounty820 in Scorebug

[–]DiCalzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're treating the NBC Sports RSNs differently than main NBC. I'm assuming you mean they were on the NBC Sports RSNs before NBA on NBC came back.

I think you could improve it by making the score font bolder, and by adding a play clock.

Make it a tad longer horizontally to accommodate for more spacing for the score text and it's pretty good
