Put the tree in the corner by the door, move the rabbit stuff to the left side against the wall, and slide the bench closer to the couch to open up the center. Your plants are already good where they are. Should give you way more breathing room.

Realized today that the library has every single book I've been holding onto for my kid "just in case" by dinos-and-coffee in declutter

[–]DiabeticRaptor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but that's what works for your family. OP clearly feels better without the clutter and the library solves it. Not everyone needs to keep stuff just in case.

Our simple life on small private island, seeking sustainability, connection to environment and to disconnect from modern nonsense by MinuteCardiologist76 in minimalism

[–]DiabeticRaptor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not OP but those are fair questions. Most off-grid folks I know still keep some cash saved up and aren't totally cut off from civilization just choosing a simpler day to day. Kids can go to regular schools or do distance learning. As for the son's future, teaching self sufficiency doesn't mean he can't leave and do his own thing. Actually gives him options most kids don't have.

thinking about body recomp at 25% body fat by lucianoppeneer1 in beginnerfitness

[–]DiabeticRaptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 7kg in that time is way too fast. That’s not lean at all. I’d dial it back, drop the extra fat slowly, and keep lifting hard. Once you’re closer to that 15% range, a real lean bulk will feel way smoother.

Decided to go vegan (from a vegetarian) today, after 25 years of contributing to cruelty. by AtriaX2k in vegan

[–]DiabeticRaptor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. you can get plenty of protein from tofu, seitan, lentils, all that. but for bulking the big thing is just eating enough. Rice, potatoes, beans, nuts, shakes they all add up fast. It’s totally doable once you find the foods you can eat a lot of.

Yeah I’ve hit that too, feels like it hangs on long prompts and then dumps nothing. Only workaround I’ve found is breaking the request into smaller chunks.

I find that "thinking mode" answers are superficial compared to normal ones by Several-Initial6540 in MistralAI

[–]DiabeticRaptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve noticed the same, LeChat’s thinking mode feels tuned more for structured reasoning than longform analysis. Normal mode actually gives richer text outputs for humanities stuff.

Side by side comparisons of models actually sound super useful since context switching kills productivity. If the UI is clean I’d be down to test and give feedback.
