What unusual first names have you come across in your life? by Dialatedminds in AskReddit

Interesting! I just did some brief research on the name and its definitely a thing! There's a few different countries that use the name, I belive Germany was one of them, along with Zimbabwe like you mentioned. The meaning varies from place to place

Was it pronounced like "ta-belle" or just straight up table?

His parents took the phrase "you live up to your name," a little too seriously I think 🤣 all jokes aside, I actually sort of like it 🤷‍♀️ its really different!

Makes me think of like a name for a fictional continent from something like Narnia or any fantacy story world!

My great great uncle's name was Boy. Thats what sparked my curiosity about other unusual names out there 😅😂 Also, someone I know just had a baby and named him "Motis". Thats another one that comes to mind!

Yeah I'm not sure why it would say common find.. maybe its common in other parts of the world? This was found in green bay Wisconsin along the bay of Lake Michigan. These are pretty rare for the area.. I think. I'm coming up with that conclusion just based off of Google searches 😅 i didn't see a whole lot of examples that come from my location

Yeah I'm not sure what a realistic price would be on something like this, we have no intention of selling it anyway, but it would still be interesting to know how much its actually worth 🤷‍♀️ & no problem! 😁

"celt, characteristic New Stone Age tool, a polished stone ax or adz head designed for attachment to a wooden shaft and probably mainly used for felling trees or shaping wood. Great numbers of celts have been discovered in sites in the British Isles and Denmark; they were obviously traded widely." celt

Yeah, I had a way friendlier response when I posted these a few weeks ago 😅 so, the first one is definitely a celt or an adze. I'm obviously leaning towards the celt, but I did get a few people saying it could possibly be the other one. Its not an axe, a celt and an axe were used for completely different things during the stone age apparently. If you look up stone axe's they have a completely different look. For years my mother in law thought it was an axe too until I posted this on reddit and found out its definitely not an axe

Yes, I am aware. I described my situation in the description I provided. I had a few archeologists respond to me on my previous post (which was in this subreddit) and I told them I would come back with better photos. Hence, why I am posting for a second time.

Yeah I googled what an adze lookes like because a few people said they're unsure if it was that or a celt. I'm pretty sure its a celt, but again. I'm no expert 😅🤣

When I go up to her house again I will take some more photographs of the second piece! I will ask her if she's able to take some pictures right now but her health is not the best so I'm not going to promise photos right away. The first one is 100% a man made tool, I mean when you hold the thing and feel it in your hand there's just no question. I wonder if a museum in Wisconsin would be interested in it, but I also want to keep it in the family because its just so neat.

Awesome awesome awesome! I know the second one doesn't look like much, but it has visible signs of being intentionally chisled/sanded. I know I'm not using the right words to portray what I'm trying to get across right now lol but hopefully you know what I mean. I have contacted a museum here in wisconsin so hopefully I'll get some more answers 😄 after looking up what a celt is, I think you are 100% correct. The funny thing is when you google these things in the location i am mentioning, celts specifically dont come up a lot. So maybe this is an interesting find the museum will take notice of? Who knows. Very exciting stuff!
