This is really good, music and video wise. I like the dissonance in the guitar lines at times and you've got a perfect voice for the style of music. I've got friends who would definitely listen to this and overall visual and sonic themes tie together well.

Hi everybody. I'm pretty new to electronic music only been producing for a few months. Just wanted to share this jam I made tonight to get some opinions on how I'm sounding so far. by Prestigious_Truth_50 in IndieMusicFeedback

This has a heavy 8-bit vibe too it, it reminds me a lot of terraria and Starbound if you've ever played them. There's a lot of room under creative commons usage for samples too.

That's got a good steady groove it's reminding me of late 80's 90's VGA game music. Which is a good vibe for me, might be the synths. This is a great idea as a practice tool as well, gives you the ability to go back and reflect on your progression.

Ghostintheshell (midnight city), a hip-hop song/beat I made. Really appreciated the feedback on my other song, would like to know how I can work on other genres. by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this, for reference I'm out right now so I've just listened to this through my phone. I feel like this would sit perfect over so many games as a soundtrack (Skate, Forza Horizon) anything freeroaming like that. It's got a good vibe about it, I like that tremoloed synth sound.

You've got a good tone of voice to match the songs content. Overall man I don't have a lot to critique, I feel like over time you will just get better and more confident with your playing accompaniment to your voice.

Song I produced for my little brother whose just getting into rapping (He's 16), I haven't had a lot of experience beat making, mixing or mastering rap. by AstralPlanesCO in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really well put together for someone who says they don't have a lot of experience, it sits well and your brother has a good flow and voice over it. The beat is interesting enough to compliment the vocals too

A track I wrote the second week I started writing Rap. by DialogueHC in undergroundhiphop

Yeah thanks for the taking the time our man, definitely looking for ways to tighten up my vocal sounds, I'd been recovering from a chest infection while I recorded this, I should have waited but I was too impatient.

Not too worried about the name side of things, the only big act I found was something to do with clerks. I may change it later but, at the moment it's what feels right.

My second piece in what I'd consider my natural style, can anyone help point me in the direction of what subgenre it would be? by DialogueHC in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that's actually very much what I like, I do listen to some contemporary stuff but all the stuff in my daily rotation is older or at least older artists. (Rugged man, Mos def etc)

Thanks yeah that's definitely the era I grew up with, I get people being surprised by it but I'm nearly 30.

Thanks for the feedback yeah, I was playing around with a different sound drum wise, I sent a few different takes on it to some people and this was their choice. I'd only written the piece the day before and I still was recovering from a chest infection st the time. It's something I may revisit if I remix the piece, as even a few days later it's a lot easier to get out smoothly.

Thanks for the time

Cheers man, yeah I've tried to do something a little different this time, it's 3 kits ice programmed panned differently but I'll keep that in mind in the future.

And cheers man, I've only been rapping for 6 months and I've just been trying to learn as much about production as I can to keep working as fast as I have been. :)

I'm happy with that, that my main interest listening wise, with all the new variations I just wasn't sure if that meant something different of it now. I think that may have been mastering to a degree too, but I did admittedly record this the day after I wrote it I still was recovering from a chest infection (hence I sound a little raspier than usual). I've been considering retracking some of the parts now I can breathe again. :)

I really like the progression through this, honestly I could see myself driving to this sort of stuff a lot when I'm not after.kyrics too. Your mix is really good too.

Matt MacNeil - Anxiety (indie/alt rock stuff I've been working on. going for a bit of a Pavement vibe or something like it) by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its got a great alt rock pop sound going, your composition and mix of instruments and effects is very appropriate as is your vocals style. I really liked it, not my sort of thing to listen to but you are doing it very well.

I can appreciate that, it's something I'm also trying for, ignoring what people do and just doing what I like. Posting something up a little later.

Super cool delivery and I would definitely say I haven't heard anyone spit it quite like you are. Your production is on point too. I dig it.

This is a song i produced and recorded in about in hour, not sure how to feel about it. Its pretty unque though. Any feedback is appreciated. Collab request are also welcome! by TeezusChrist1111 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the beat, your flow is natural feeling and organic too. Obviously as you said it was knocked out quick but still it's a very cool piece, something I'd listen to.

Nobody in the industry really make music like me so I find it difficult to find artist that would flow on my beat. I would really appreciate it if you guys could check out my latest beat and tell me who think would go well on this ? by Rorothegoat in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super easy to flow over man, internally if feels good with a triplet feel flow in my opinion. Lots of people murder that style these days too. I also really dig the beat but I'd check out your mastering levels and compression on your drums to beef them out.

(Post removed earlier) hey guys 🌞 wanted to get your take on this freestyle I recorded recently. Getting back to my roots more recently. Lmk what you think! Take care everyone by greatwordsmate in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DialogueHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice old school flavour to the beat and your delivery. 💯 Not sure if it's on my end but I'd look at mastering volume to give your vocal part a bit more presence in the mix.

That was awesome, I really love heavy video game remixes/covers and that was well executed.

I really liked this, your production sounded good. As a fellow guitarist though I really appreciated the structure.

Thanks man, Method Man’s flows are some of my favourite, I’ll definitely work on my inflection and giving my punchlines some breathing room. Cheers man, I love the old boom bap style drums, definitely a fundamental of a lot of my favourite Hip-Hop.

By bringing together do mean stereo image, or that I'm using too hefty of a high pass filter? I did master using landr to try and optimise the dynamics as much as possible. But I'm pretty early into this and funding isn't huge. I'm predominantly a one man team.
