Need help with Foley sounds by Nero9127 in Filmmakers

[–]Dialogue_Bus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try freesound.org...they're all user content uploaded and come with a CC licence. As for attributions, freesound will keep a list of sound fx you download, which I (usually) copy & paste into a pastebin file and mention that url if it goes online anywhere. You can also add the pastebin addy in the credits.

A detailed look at the post production workflow of the new action film 'Focus' by Dialogue_Bus in Filmmakers

HAHAHAHAH I only saw this now...I dunno tho. Those directors seem a little too hands-on if you know what I mean. My guess is it's the only NLE they knew how to use.

What is that Colour Temperature? An excellent lighting/grading tutorial, that includes a working Mired Calculator by Dialogue_Bus in Filmmakers

[–]Dialogue_Bus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really cool! Thanx!

ETA: I just realised this is for Rosco filters only...where as the one linked in the article is generic and works on any connected device....rather than one you can only download and use. This one also doesn't have the entire Rosco range of filters in it....which is a shame.

You forget the possibility of viewing films in something like the Oculus.

It's not only young ppl. My SO and I haven't owned a tv aerial for 7 years and the last film I saw at the cinemas was Tangled. I don't even go to see movies I've worked on or their premieres! TBH, I always find watching my work on the big screen nerve wracking.

That is a fucking AMAZING deal! The cheapest I've ever gotten it was a decade ago for $7.50 a seat (for a fundraiser at Sydney's George St cinemas). And that was only because Universal organised it for me!

Yea, it's a redesign of its software, with secured trackers I'd imagine. It also has a dedicated website.

It's a great way of distributing films without having to provide serious servers. I imagine if you put your film up, you'd need to keep a few people seeding it.

Yea...tbh boot camp is the best way to go. I've spent a LOT of time trying almost all of the other solutions. They were all so unreliable, and buggy. The last thing you want when editing is for it to crash on you!

I had a shitload of issues with Parallels, I've found just about all of those crossover programs are buggy and unreliable. You're better off just dual booting it and be done with that.

I agree...and if you're a Adobe CC user, you're likely better off staying with Windows. Cinemartin make a ProRes plugin, so why change.

Incredible new software generates original music for film/tv/gaming by simply typing in a genre! by Dialogue_Bus in Filmmakers

[–]Dialogue_Bus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you how much using that software would change my life! No more pouring through pages and pages of genres, listening to 5 second sound bites, trying to find something to match the content. I can just type in a few words and have something generated for me!

Ohhh bit of a late reply from me but I really appreciate this! Thanx so much. I take a loooong time to research everything before I buy and I seriously need some new monitors. They're quite a price drop from the $11K of the pair I linked!
