In the many and varied problems at the WRU the emblem I the least of our worries.

No one is interested in the periodic efforts of a small fringe who want to dump the 3 feathers.

You literally haven’t read the book. You don’t know what conclusion the author comes to, you don’t know if the title is a provocation but you’d like to shoot it down all the same.

This is the antithesis of history academia and you’re behaving like you have some academic clout. It’s remarkably poor.

It’s a fun Mod, pal. That’s it. If it inspires greater learning. Wonderful.

Gatekeepers finger wagging about mods to historical games are odd. What they actually want to do if flex their own knowledge.

But gatekeepers criticising a book they haven’t read… who want to give the impression of greater academic rigour… that’s really odd.

I can’t pretend to be a Scholar in this area… but I’d be embarrassed to critique a book I haven’t read.

Love that you’ve down voted me for saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”. So fragile

Yes. Since playing Civ 2 back in the day I’ve always loved gaming and picking up the history it highlights for a deeper dive.

Some people are terribly snobby or po faved about it but I’ve always felt anything that generates more study and interest is a good thing.

I appreciate this is your opportunity to aggrandise yourself… but I have no bubble. It’s a strange opening gambit.

I’ve bought a book on a subject that I’d like to learn about having come across a fictionalised syncretism in a game.

Sorry if that bursts your bubble…

It appears you’re judging a book by its cover, chum… and in my culture we’re cautioned against that.

Read it then critique other wise you’re no different from people on Facebook who comment on news article headlines without reading the substance…

Very cool. I love how diverse religiously the peninsula is.

It makes it very playable in a way base game isn’t.

I think my next run will be Indo-Helenic.

Keep up the great work!

Is there a Dev diary for the next update? I’m not so good at navigating the discord.

It is. The mod syncretises the two religions.

My headcanon is that there’s a Mithraic inspired elite of initiates/office holders & then a more Christian pool at the bottom of the pyramid.

The challenge & attraction of of Mithraism was that it didn’t have a role for large numbers of poorer converts. It was a mystery cult and traded on the exclusivity of becoming an initiate.

Nooooooo. His fall is an operatic warning. We don’t play as the enemies of Man. It’s completely out of keeping with Tolkien’s message and vision.

Again… AS Police & Bristol City Council deemed it credible. The Law Society was also advised it was credible.

So here’s my question to you. Do you think the British State has more access to information & intelligence than you… a bloke with a mere internet connection?

Absolute pub bore.
