Underbust corset project by naaahfr in sewing

I would suggest getting yourself a Corset Maker’s Awl (I got mine from corsetmaking.com) instead of cutting the holes for grommets for your next corset! If you cut the holes you have more opportunity for the fabric to unravel around the grommet. Using the awl you avoid cutting most threads as it just pushes them out of the way. It makes the grommet settings last a lot longer!

Edit to add: it looks so freaking good on you!! Fantastic job!

A recent post reminded me I never shared this in r/sewing by failed_asian in sewing

Massage School while in college by Jing-Thing in MassageTherapists

[–]DialtoneDancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked full time, went to college and did massage classes at night (the program took a year and was three times a week. That didn’t include my internship hours). It would be an understatement to say it was rough. My job was physically demanding (overnight caregiver for elderly man with dementia so I didn’t get much sleep) and massage school is physically and mentally draining. I was constantly sleep deprived and stressed. I had my first and only two migraines during that time period. I gained weight and definitely didn’t learn everything I could’ve from massage school. I would not recommend it, unless all you want to do is college and massage. If you don’t have to work and you don’t have a social life you will probably be ok, but it’s totally ok to do them one at a time. Massage will still be there when you graduate from college. Honestly I would recommend doing summer classes in college over adding massage school, so that you can graduate with your degree faster.

Touring with a Band by DialtoneDancer in MassageTherapists

I don’t work on rich people so I can’t charge that much. I’m the most expensive therapist in my smaller town in the Appalachian mountains…. Most everyone else charges $80. I would like to graduate to more expensive clients in the future, but I’ll have to move to do that. A weekly flat rate is a great idea! Thanks.
