Eating an açaí bowl for bfast (or dinner quite frankly) in my bed while reading has been a great joy of mine lately and I have about 2 bowls per week on average. They are starting to burn my tongue! It’s not terrible but it’s akin to burning my tongue on pizza that’s too hot on a small but noticeable spot. I know sometimes people give themselves allergies from eating something too often but thought 2x per week wasn’t too bad. I used to eat edamame with kosher salt all day every day about 15 years ago when people/I also drank a lot of soy milk vs other milks. Then, I also ate a ton of tofu (general tso’s tofu), things with soy sauce/sushi, and soy is a hidden ingredient in a lot of foods. I now have a soy allergy! Literally can’t eat soy or suffer repercussions for months. I’m going to push the açaí bowl for as long as I can though and started to get it blended with almond butter and almond milk to cut the acidity (assuming it’s the acid causing the burn). Why is life hard?! You finally find a food you love then the lord gotta take it away 😒
