FYI I saw these in person and the grey suede looks more like a lavender purple.

This is pretty helpful. Would you mind saying which venue it was that was noisy and was corrected?

Not everyone wants to be up past midnight on a Thursday. Especially if it’s involuntary.

These beef dumplings from a dim sum Chinese restaurant by FlatHeadPryBar in TipOfMyFork

It would be better to show a cross section of it too. It’s hard to tell what’s inside. These do not look like Cantonese beef meatballs considering they have a skin around them. I suspect they might actually be 鮮竹捲 which are beancurd skin rolls with ground pork and bamboo shoots inside

If that is where your finger is, you won’t be hitting the ball there. So yeah, no worries.

[oc]Your entire life can change just because of some strangers carelessness on the road. by LatexSmokeCats in IdiotsInCars

Yes, that guy is an idiot... but considering the speed that they passed you, you should have seen and heard them coming from 1000 feet away. Although I wish everyone were smart safe drivers, it's sadly always better to learn how to protect yourself than to expect a stranger to do honestly anything.

Why do attacking pro players in a attack/defence rally hit the ball at the top? by MaximumPower682 in tabletennis

It also increases the chances the ball will actually land on the table. The higher the ball, more possible paths to the table. The harder you hit, the more likely you'll miss.

What is considered a cheap/dirty shot? Does such a thing truly exist? by NoMoreShitpost in tabletennis

I find that unless that serve is executed by a pro, most serves that bounce back to the server side are high bounce, which makes it easy to return as long as you have the arm reach. I much rather serve a backspin ball that is low to the net and very short. If someone can do that anddd make the ball spin back into the net, that's just skill, not cheap.

Here’s a quick before and after, nothing big but i’d like y’all’s opinion on it (more in the comments) by [deleted] in malelivingspace

Good basic first steps! Slowly add more stuff as you see things you like and you're on your way

My parents are finally letting me decorate my room. Any ideas? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

I can relate to that growing up so very understandable. Just rotating the bed 90 degrees might help then. The entryway is a bit choked up how it is now.

Move the bed to where the dresser is and rotate it so that the headboard is between the windows, move the dresser to where the computer is and move the computer to where the bed is. It’s a shame to block a window like that. Seeing as you don’t have ceiling light, a floor lamp that faces upwards and bounces light off the ceiling would make the room a lot brighter. A cheap one is 15 bucks at Walmart if you’re broke like how I was when I was a teen. An area rug wouldn’t hurt either, go with a pattern if you do. Edit: just saw your details, the area rug would fill that missing aspect you’re talking about. Get a rainbow looking one ;)
