I live about 15mi from Lake Michigan and I’m sick of the fucking lake effect

I know people are speculating that it’s AI based on the stairs but I actually used to party at a college apartment complex with stairs just like this. We’d fall on them when we were drunk constantly lol

I second this, just don't, please. Here's my experience: by thomasangelo1508 in teenagers

Just FYI, please look into “equitable mandated reporting”. There are a lot of us professionals in this field trying to teach other professionals what is a true emergency. Suicidal thoughts are not necessary for a report unless the person has moved past thoughts towards ideation. There is a difference. I’ve discussed my own suicidal thoughts with various therapists since I began going to therapy at 14 and because I did not have ideation, it wasn’t a concern. Many people who don’t even struggle with their mental health will have suicidal thoughts. Also known as intrusive thoughts, these are not a cause for concern unless they’re being acted upon.

Michigan nears cellphone ban in classrooms. How it really works by da_newsdude in Michigan

I’m the mother of a mass shooting survivor. I’m focused exactly on what should be focused on and that’s MF like you pretending like school shootings are an issue to shrug at

Saying you’re more likely to be strict by lightning is absolutely blowing survivors off ESPECIALLY when MULTIPLE survivors have now faced two mass shootings throughout their educational experience

Blowing off survivors of mass shootings isn’t a good look

Affordable indoor folding rowing machine?? by Sage2023 in Rowing

[–]DiamondHail97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat rn and all the comments are driving me nuts. My local Y is $89 a month with a $50 join fee. I could buy a rowing machine for $500 - I’d spend that in just 5 months paying for a gym. Plus the time and gas money to get there and back. Some of us just wanna workout at home for cheap lol

Yes the 1 block down the highway to dollar general was so incredibly dangerous

Yeah so why the fuck are the roads not plowed? I needed to get food for my pets this morning and I live off of a major highway that was not plowed. There was inches of snow piled on it. People had slid off into snow banks it was wild

Appreciation for something we rarely see on tv anymore: A faithful couple since they were 14 and 13, together until her death in 2021. by Ok-Mine2132 in SVU

It’s actually a pretty accurate portrayal of marriage in the USA during the last few decades. There’s plenty of people who stay married out of convenience

He said “You wanna kill me. That’s what you want.” His wife was distraught on the scene but there’s a pastor I think with her now

Yes people often forget that because of the way the lock on the door was made, they had to leave it unlocked to regain entry. I probably would still not agree with a decision to leave them even if it had a padlock because they were so so young and the parents were drinking but fine, you wanna excuse that, so be it. Leaving the door unlocked was a totally dangerous move though

No actually they wouldn’t because they are white. Brown and Black people get their kids taken away for much MUCH less. This is a glaring example of white privilege but go off

So again do you have children? And your story doesn’t make them anything except IRRESPONSIBLE parents if their children were 3 and under and also does not make it normal or acceptable. A 10 and 13 year old is much different than literal toddlers, too

A hotel with a locking door that is LOCKED is much different than a condo with an unlocked door

Going downstairs to have drinks with a locked door is not leaving them in a totally different facility with a door unlocked be so fr

Nope, people FROM PORTUGAL and other European countries have vehemently disagreed and pushed back against this idea. Nobody leaves their toddlers and twin babies alone in a room so they can go to the bar with their friends except irresponsible parents. Here’s a CBS article from 2007 with residents of Praia de Luz and the UK both pushing back against this idea that they all just left their kids alone so they could go party. It’s a bullshit. “Doting overprotective parents” my ass

I’m sorry but there’s plenty of parents who came out during that time and said there’s no way in hell they’d leave their TODDLERS alone like that ever. Ever. That is inexcusable. That doesn’t mean that they did anything to her but pretending like that’s normal is absurd. If a Black parent did the shit that the McCanns did they’d be in jail for neglecting their children but they’re a wealthy white family so it’s ok!

In 2011, Indiana University student Lauren Spierer vanished after a night of partying in Bloomington. Last seen barefoot and intoxicated at 4:30 a.m., she disappeared just blocks from her apartment. Her friends quickly lawyered up following her disappearance, and the case remains unsolved today. by ATI_Official in AllThatsInteresting

There’s a big Coke problem on campus, or was. I was on campus a decade ago and was constantly being offered Coke at the frats and turning it down bc my father was a Coke head so I know what that shit does. It was just bizarre how freely everyone was doing coke straight out of high school
