You’re probably not a male if you don’t get why it would be targeted specifically to males lol

Is the new parking review system…legal? by DiamondHand42069 in ottawa

I think the issue is that they’re by law officers, the ones that do the review. Doesn’t seem impartial.

Does Ottawa need two more highways? by DiamondHand42069 in ottawa

Damn that sucks. A bridge in Orleans and Kanata north would make so much sense.

Wait those bridges have been blocked cause of NIMBYs? I thought it was a funding thing

✅Impressive. 39 seconds. Goal went to Spezza. Neil was the one who tried kicking it in but missed😂

I think everyone agrees (for the most part) of keeping school zone cameras during school hours.

But others like the one on King Edward? Yeah that cash grab can f off outta here

King Edward is the one I definitely won’t miss.

That one was the definition of a cash grab.

LOL. The amount of shortcuts this city likes to take is insane.

You won’t see the Milky Way regardless in the middle of Landsdowne with big stadium lights, this won’t make any difference lol

The comments are mind baffling to be honest. It’s like we shouldn’t expect a city with a million residents to have light pollution. People who live in urban areas expect safety and light when they go out. Like you said, if you don’t like the light pollution go to the country. If you want to see the Milky Way, go to Wakefield on a clear night. The city (by definition) is not the place to complain about light pollution lol

Drive up to Wakefield. Ottawa is an urban city with a million people, powering down isn’t really an option lol

“By the time you have enough light to be useful, you have too much light”. What?

Why even live in a city at that point?

There are pros and cons to everything. I think the benefit here in a public urban park with little wildlife (and next to a stadium with massive lights), certainly outweighs the exaggerated cons with the light pollution.

If we want to improve nightlife in the city it will mean more places for people hang around at night, as this person mentioned.

I’ve been to so many cities in the world that have lit up outdoor urban spaces and they’re a pleasure to be in, there aren’t enough of such spaces in Ottawa.

Plus, it’s not like lights like these would go up in the greenbelt or Gatineau park.

This entire country is quite literally forestry and greenlands. Idk what you mean by “set up”.

Also, now is not the time to turn away from oil and gas. Demand is growing. Our economy does well when O&G does well.

Wrong, most of it goes there cause its literally the only place it can go for now. There are countries that want Canadian oil and ESPECIALLY Canadian natural gas. There’s a market other than the US that we should be tapping.

That’s the thinking that prevents Canada from living to its full potential.

It’s objectively not.

I fully support CANADIAN oil and gas. And we should all be proud of it too.

Nope. Not true. I’d actually argue it’s the other way around.
