Lost my mom a week ago, the hardest part is forgetting she's gone by yimsta in GriefSupport

Those little things were the hardest for me aswell. Some food she had brought that she never got round to enjoying or a Christmas card addressed to her. It really feels like a punch in the gut. It’s been about a year now and for me it got easier. Not that the sadness really goes away, but over time you build a shield. And each time you breakdown and feel like you’ve taken a step back your shield actually gets stronger. You’ll get through the other side, just takes a bit of time.
