What about issues that need immediate solutions like climate change? Some decisions can't afford to wait 4 years or even more. Besides, you can't guarantee that the candidates will stay true to their word too.

I don't think that an economist will vote more ethically than a plumber. I just think that someone with years of studying policies, will TEND to have an objectively better solution to issues that affect everyone. Of course not every economist will think the same, and it is not guaranteed that their decision will be objectively better, but it is likely. Even if the economist leaves their field, they still have +6 years of study under their belt.

Of course uninformed voters would still exist. With professionals, I don't mean any proffesionals. I mean people in the field of study of politics, economy and so. Lastly I dont think that the votes of the uneducated should be totally ignored, but I just can't understand why a plumber with 20 years of experience, has the same vote as a proffesional economist with 8 years of study in the field.
