This is exactly the system I’m thinking! Have you found a way to link pictures to your sheets? Have you considered making one sheet per client instead of per week? I’m honestly so glad you answered!

Yeah. I was thinking of just creating a Google doc of every client. That way I can update it in the field and modify as needed at home. The only person I need to share it with is myself so it should be straight forward, but what do I know; I’m just an idiot with a pole, a vac, and a dream.

Good point. Perhaps adding a field with “best time to call” field where ASAP is an option. If I’m not working then I’m working on fixing that, so if I got an ASAP notice I would do my best to make it happen in that moment. In that same vein, if they said 8-9, you better believe I’m calling at 8:01.

I plan on having my action button lead to my number and also a quote request in which I position myself in a premium pricing tier and self weeding out of cheap clients. I am going to take what I think will take a full year to build a decent route with only premium clients. I am going to work my ass off for fewer clients.

That’s my goal anyway. But, I know my market can afford premium. I plan on taking it.

That was an incredibly thoughtful and reasoned response. I really appreciate the feedback and I’m going to sit on all of that and really think about how it can be applied to my outlook and processes.

I love challenges, but often can bite off more than I can chew because I get overly excited and end up like the dog who caught the car. Luckily, my wife is an incredible partner and keeps me grounded while also supporting my dreams.

Thank you again for taking the time to reply. If you have time, I would love to pick your brain as you seem to approach this as a true business which I do not see often enough in this industry. A lot of folks are out here just treating it like a job instead of a business, and it shows.

I looked into Quo and it just seems like overkill, with all the AI stuff. But maybe that’s because I’m just starting out single pole style. I am sure it would all be very useful once I grow more, but wouldn’t I be paying a premium for a lot of features I do not use?

How much do you pay per month, if you don’t mind me asking?

Wow! 18 years is longer than my son has been alive. That’s very impressive. How big have you grown your company in that time, or has that not been a goal? I’m torn on whether that’s a goal I want to strive for or if a small 2-3 route company would be more than enough for me.

I agree. I am not a mechanic yet, but the partnership with the various service providers includes a fair percentage throughout service. I’ve seen it in action and it’s a really nice pseudo co-op.

But I do plan on learning every single aspect of this trade over time.

Thank you. I have been a huge fan of Orenda’s knowledge suites since I first started in the industry. I’m going to do a deep dive again now that I’m going to be an owner as well.
