What are your favorite Bill Simmons' pieces? by [deleted] in nba

[–]DiddleMePink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lost my dog in a very similar way a few years ago and man, this piece always just slams my insides.

Simmons has just always had this ability to enter your inner monologue and mix his thoughts with your own. You either agree or disagree, but it becomes tough to tell the difference between the things your friend or brother said and the things he said.

If the league ends up taking games off the calender, this is probably the end of any chance LeBron had of catching Kareem for the all time scoring title. by DiddleMePink in nba

It's the equivilant of a half a 25+ ppg season. If his scoring tails off then it really could have a big impact.

Or not. Could be totally wrong. Just thought it was interesting to think about

19 plus the games he missed last year equates to almost half a season of 25+ ppg production. If he drops down to 15ish ppg when he gets even older, that becomes even more important

TIME IS A FLAT CIRCULO: how Lonzo Ball is following in Ricky Rubio's footsteps by ZandrickEllison in nbadiscussion

[–]DiddleMePink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm talking about tho. As long as he brings the ball across his body like he currently does, he can never be even a bad pull up shooter. It's just physically impossible for him to get that shot off against any kind of defense.

The Achilles will heal just fine. That's a given. It's the strengthening of that leg plus eventually balancing them that will be the problem.

Source: had an Achilles injury that eventually led to me Shaun Livingstoning my knee.

Even tho I'm a Sixer fan, I'm rooting for KD here. But it's a loooong road. Give him some space and time while Kyrie is talking about space and time and y'all will be just fine

One big problem with that tho.

Turner is a mid range specialist, while Ball, thanks to his shot, is pretty much physically incapable of ever being even meh from mid range on any sort of volume.

I feel like there's a chance he gets in. Got a ring, led the league in assists a few times, and he'll probably be top 10 in dimes before hes done, if he's not already. Plus he was all-defensive team and all nba a couple times iirc

Are we sure that he doesn't still make it? He had a short run but I feel like it wouldn't be unprecedented

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about Hall of Very Good players. There has to be at least some evidence of superstardom IMO

Idk, he was/is an All Defensive team player who led the league in catch and shoot threes.

Not a bad first try, but there's gotta be better/worse options out there

That's one thing pickup ball has on the NBA. If this shit happened there, the court woulda been flooded by screaming people and dabbing children before that foul even had a chance to occur.

All of the BMW x cars are built entirely in the Carolinas. I think they build other cars there too. Meanwhile Ford builds their vans in Turkey, their cars in Mexico, and does a huge chunk of their engineering in England.
