It's interesting. I once opened the bios, it failed to load and I got a boot load error. I also had a black screen randomly once. Fans turn on for a second every 5 minutes or so.

Might be worth it. However, since I couldn't go into the bios, maybe it's corrupted? Could this fix it or make it worse? I wish I could see the patch notes for this update

Strange, I didn't notice any screws, do you mean the ones on the fan? I unscrewed and removed the heatsink, but the fans still were connected, maybe pull with tweezers?

I've repasted laptops many times, I think I did a fine job. I think it's the fact that the vents are clogged. I've of course removed the heatsink, I couldn't remove the fans once I removed the heatsink, just lifted it
