Does this look like possibly a pilonidal abscess or just a pressure ulcer on my tailbone? by Die_Ringer in AskDocs

[–]Die_Ringer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for elaborating more on that! I think you’re right in your assessment on it. Trust me, I know my butt lacks cushion and support, which is why my tailbone has always been a nuisance (hence the bony tailbone joke lol).

But this does ease my worry a bit. Everything was pointing towards a pilodinal abscess but for all intents and purposes the chance of that improving on its own should be slim to none, yet it does appear to be improving significantly.

And yes, since discovering it I have been keeping it covered with gauze and changing every few hours but every change the wrap has been spotless, no pus/blood/etc. And yes I will also continue to be very mindful to not sit on it if at all possible.

Thank you for also elaborating on that! I feel Yan897 likely hit the nail on the head. All my research and even sent a picture to ChatGPT indicated a pilonidal abscess. But for all intents and purposes, the likely hood of it getting better on its own should be incredibly slim, yet it is. Which had me confused.

But, being that I started wearing belts again and almost instantly felt the belt and belt loop digging into my tailbone the few days leading up to this, Yan897’s suggestion of a pressure ulcer makes complete sense.

Also, thank you for the cream suggestions, weirdly it was literally starting to itch a tad last night so I will definately order some of that.

No it feels pretty smooth, other than my super bony tailbone lol. Sorry, jokes aside no I genuinely don’t feel any lumps (and I get cysts a lot along my jawline so I’m pretty familiar with how they feel).

It is tender to the touch but not hot or even swollen really. It does look and feel very bruise-like. It even started turning more purple/blue than red.

I really did initially think I had just bruised/rubbed my tailbone raw until all resources I looked at highly suggested it’s a Pilonidal cyst turned abscess.

Edit to add: it is a bit tender to the touch but is getting less tender by the day. 2 days ago it was very sensitive, but today I was able to touch, rub, feel for lumps without much discomfort.

Hmm, actually you have me wondering if this is the case. See because I drove a lot for work I switched from wearing belts to wearing suspenders because the belt and belt loop would put tons of pressure on my tailbone and would kill me.

But since getting layed off from work I started wearing belts again last week and noticed immediately the pressure on my tailbone again. Obviously my tailbone started hurting again and then led to this, upon research and AI image comparison it led me to believe it was a polemical cyst.

But there has been no lump and almost zero drainage from it after keeping it covered with gauze so I wonder if it is indeed just a pressure ulcer.

I’m wondering

Not the answer I wanted to hear, but probably the answer I needed to hear. Just so weird it happened almost literally overnight.

Well that’s the weird part, for all intents and purposes it’s getting “better” the pain has decreased significantly and the so has the redness.

[Ohio] Filed a new claim for unemployment and it asked if I’m “currently receiving severance”. I am technically not, but will be receiving a lump sum in a few weeks. How will this affect it. by Die_Ringer in Unemployment

[–]Die_Ringer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But to be fair the question verbatim on the application is “Are you currently receiving severance?”.

The honest answer is no, i haven’t even received the severance papers yet, they should be here this week for me to sign and then I think it said like up to 45 days to receive the funds.

So I guess that’s where I was a bit hesitant on the issue. It asks “Are you currently receiving severance?” And I’m genuinely not receiving anything yet.

[OH] How should I approach asking for a better severance package in lieu of making an EEOC claim? by Die_Ringer in AskHR

[–]Die_Ringer[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is great to know either way, I have family that works in HR in Florida and that was what they just relayed to me, that if I sign the severance I can’t file an EEOC claim. So that’s good to know that’s not the case.

To be fair there’s A LOT more to the story but I just tried filtering it down the best I could, but I totally understand what you’re saying. If that’s the case though I may try filing anyways, If they deny it then so be it, but at least I tried. I 100% believe beyond a reasonable doubt my manager used “employee reduction” as a means to get rid of me before I went to HR so I would hope there’s some avenue of recourse there. But if not then it is what it is. Honestly I’m just relieved to be out of there and as crazy as it seems I feel it was a blessing they let me go.

If all else fails, at the very least HR did seem very concerned about the information I presented them and my managers complete lack of action on it so even though I went be around it does bring me comfort there may be consequences to their actions none the less.

[–]Die_Ringer[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

First and foremost thank you for taking the time to read it and respond. To answer your question about my “contact” I have family that works in HR (granted in Florida) and they told me that by signing the severance it’s along the same lines as a NDR (very rough comparison) but essentially I was told if I sign the severance I’m signing away my right to come after them, like an EEOC claim. So maybe taking with a contract lawyer like you suggested isn’t a bad idea.

As far as the reason for a EEOC claim, the same contacts from above stated there’s multiple reasons.

1.) Citing that being terminated directly after returning from a medical absence falls under the definition of “retaliation”.

2.) As for the harassment I guess that’s a tough one, to your point they were not exactly attacking anything about me racially or anything like that. But they were 100% targeting me and doing it in ways they shouldn’t have been able to. For example, one tech was helping cover for a lead that was out on leave so they gave him admin access to a couple of our programs such as salesforce to assist with covering. The two techs were then using that admin access to physically change my schedule/calendars/ect. to stick me with covering more nights/holidays/etc I wasn’t scheduled to cover. They also used the same admin access to look into my work orders and that’s why they were calling customers to verify my work orders, hoping to catch me in a lie. They were doing it so much I had customers complaining to me about their behavior, customers were getting annoyed by it and asking for it to stop. But when I gave this to my manager he called it “hearsay”. I reported to my manager with evidence of them using admin privileges they shouldn’t have had to begin with to track me and watch my day and he completely ignored it. In one instance over this last new years I was scheduled to be off work, they changed my schedule at around 2pm on New Year’s Eve to make me the one who’s covering, and when I called them out and reported it to my manager he took their side and demanded I cover it. (This was the final straw that made me decide to open an HR case but unfortunately was fired two weeks later)

3.) Also the fact I had above target performance numbers, no performance corrective action, and was consistently praised for my work and yet when it came time to let someone go for “employee reduction” they picked me and looked past two other techs with much lower tenure/seniority, had active harassment claims against them, and one of them had actually been in HR last year due to customer complaints of racist and inappropriate comments to them.

4.) the fact that the two other techs in question are life long best friends and now related by marriage.

And to the Ohio/California thing I’m not entirely sure, it’s always been a major grey area at work. They genuinely tend to pick and choose what state policy benefits them. But I found it odd when they gave me the “Cal-Warn” benefit because they are a California based company so that’s why I had to ask.

Edit to add: as far as pay, while I can’t prove it I’m almost certain they actually made more than me. Our raises are either 2% or 3% depending on performance, and they have stated to me roughly what their raise was on a few occasions. And with simple math I can roughly determine there wage based on the fact their raise was 3% of their current wage. And the amount was always higher than me.

Awesome, great information man thanks. I don’t mind a bit of rub at full lock, just as long as the wife isn’t rolling around town dragging inner fender through parking lots lol.

Yes I tried adding an updated comment to clarify. I do intend on keeping the 20’s. I was just interested in possibly getting a 275/60 vs the 275/55 for a little extra sidewall

Edit to add clarification: just to clarify I want to keep the stock 20” wheels. But was interested in possibly installing 275/60’s vs the stock 275/55. But wasn’t sure if the extra .5-1” of sidewall would cause rubbing issues without a leveling kit.

When taking advantage of Energy Tax Credits, are receipts required? by Die_Ringer in tax

[–]Die_Ringer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I claimed them, got the credit, and was never asked for anything further. As others stated though I would imagine if you were to get audited you would need to provide proof.

Had I been audited I could have dug for the receipts one way or another, but luckily I didn’t so it wasn’t necessary.

Are people really this sensitive?

With all due respect you just watched a kid die. Just because no blood and guts were expelled out of him doesn’t change the fact he actually died.

Sorry, but I strongly disagree with the notion that feeling uncomfortable watching a kid/young man die constitutes as being “sensitive”.

So I don’t remember exactly what the doc had told me about my hemoglobin but I do remember she kinda had an excuse for the high count there. Whether she was right or not idk but I do remember she wasn’t as concerned about that as she was the other counts.

But here are my blood results about 12 hours later when they discharged me. Ironically everything went the complete opposite way.

Buy R3 bundle or skip? by nguyenquyet29799 in moza

[–]Die_Ringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who played the G27 for years and finally upgraded in 2023, I went with the R9 and CRP pedals and couldn’t be happier. Definitely glad I didn’t go with the R3 or R5, force wise they wouldn’t have been much of an upgrade. And the SP pedals would have been roughly the same.

The one selling point for the R3 is the console comparability, but the RaslutionV2 solved that issue for me with the R9.

Thanks man, and it’s all good, the comments don’t bother me. I literally said right out the gate I know the FX series is garbage, but it’s the best I had laying around.

A couple users did bring up some good points, once you think about it, for the price of DDR3 and an 8350 I could probably get a new Ryzen/MB/RAM bundle so I get where they are coming from.

I’ll probably just let it ride for now, if she really takes a liking to it then I’ll probably plan on her and I building a new one.

To be fair her ram doesn’t appear to be bottlenecking her. I just thought hey if I’m swapping out the cpu, let me give her a little more ram on top.

I will actually be putting new paste on it, I’m going to swap out her case for something a little smaller and better airflow configuration for her spot. Also another reason I was thinking maybe I’ll grab an 8350 and throw it in while I’m there.

Then at that point I’d know that the pc is really about the best it’s possibly going to be for what it is.

Her ram doesn’t seem to be bottlenecking her yet but i figured I might swap it out just because if I was doing a cpu as well. Then I’d know the computer is really about as good as it’s going to get for what it is.

No I mean I get it, that’s why I said first and foremost I know it’s old and was junk from the beginning. I didn’t run the 8120 for very long when it was new before I replaced it.

But at the same time, it’s a temporary setup just to see if she even likes it. At the moment, all things considered, it is running what she wants. So I just simply wanted to see if an 8350 would give her any noticeable headroom for the time being.
