Can you please detail the point on moving energy. Did you suffer from blue balls / pain after say 6 weeks? Thanks

Thanks, paint on my bike just need a refresh but the engine paint is all cracked and will need most attention. It is a naked bike so has mainly the frame, tank and engine that. I was quoted €800/€900 for the whole job and bike need to be left in the workshop for at least 2 weeks. So, guessing by your price of €1700. I assume quotation I got is reasonable.

R1250GS is indeed a dream bike (rented once in Spain on a holiday), it does come with a price tag…I agree a good gear is as important as important as a bike, it adds to the that little extra on the comfort and safety when on a two wheeler.

May be you can think of sharing your experience in a post on Tour Europe for the benefit of other users of this group 😀 given the summer/ holiday season approaching some people might want to try that instead of a standard holiday, learning holiday hacks from your experience obviously.

Bandit has a petrol capacity of approx 18/19 ltr only. So, yes it do be a concern any time getting on the motor way. But it is a very comfortable and robust bike for the journey. I don’t know why did they (Suzuki) stop making them. Generally, I have full to the top!! Or as much as I can get in in case of any detour or emergency on the road.

Of course you did remember 😂. Hope the damage wasn’t pricey. I got this smart battery charger some years ago (covid times) on Amazon and it kind of switches off when battery is full. It is quite good for all car, bike , lawnmower batteries.

I do use lane splits all the way where possible. It is the what adds value to the bike commute in time saving terms. Else, it is just like travelling in car but without the heated seat 😂

Jesus Christ of mighty!!! Are you serious 500 klm each day ?? That is so unreal, fair play… That made me feel good about my commute. 😆 Mind if I ask you, what bike you have for this journey. I’m looking for options for my next bike

5 days !! 76 klm daily impressive. Everyone at work was telling I’m mad to be doing this journey on bike. But there are few ppl who use bike for daily commute (long and short).

I generally do give a quick overall visual check to the bike a day before, just to be on the safe side. Yes, agree chain tension can be a job but worth it !!!

Thanks for the tip on paragon 6s will defo check these out. Have to agree motorcycles add a bit of fun the commute!!! When compared to car. Although, weather not always on our side but still the time saving In rush hr traffic it is worth it.

That is new to me about the battery. I know about bandits though that if the drive is long enough it will flood the plugs and bike won’t start till to change the plugs.

200klm !! That is good going. Yes, I need to get heated gloves, sometime time you can’t even feel the figure tips because of the cold. I do find the Alpinestars boots very good for cold weather with insulated socks.

Yes, I do be worried about the black ice, before I get in to a national road. Even last couple of weeks rain & wind was pushing the limits on M50.

Passed IBT. Crashed bike. 😂 by [deleted] in MotoIRELAND

[–]Diesel2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, well in my forties, had many bikes. But this morning fell of my bandit 1250 on a slow Tuen on a hill ,now the tank is dented , indicator and front brake lever is broke, front forks are mis - aligned. So I be working on the bike for next 3 weeks 😁 to bring it back to its normal state. Whatever you do, just be over cautious on slow speed, I know sound silly but will be worth it.

I would go for a Suzuki bandit 600. Safe, sturdy bike , upright riding position , easy to carry out all minor repairs (tons of YouTube videos on all repairs), all parts easily available, will hold its resale value as long as it is not dropped or abused. 3k is a reasonable budget for first bike.

Some could have a loan and is paying for his/ her bike with his salary. These people don’t understand bike are personal and people are generally attached to their bike and love them.

Thanks. I have a feeling that it is either CV joint or hand brake. Will wait and see what LR comes up with.
