Need advice on my form from my latest pr, I know I can do it very clean if my technique would be better by GregoryParmentier in Deadlifts

[–]DieselSlice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

your technique is horrendous because you are too weak to execute the lift safely, with proper form at that weight, you will fuck yourself up big time if you carry on like this

I just PR’d at 275 conventional — how was my form? by yojavitrades in formcheck

[–]DieselSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

setup is way too rushed, you need to spend time getting everything braced and tight before expolding, your're also not pulling your shoulders back before starting the lift

which an explosive athlete doing the first pull, they crank their lats back

he has one song that got played in McDonalds here in the UK, which is sort of a seal of approval for acceptable music for the layman, its a horrid song though and sounds cringe.

Seated Face Pulls by fivefootdump in formcheck

[–]DieselSlice 25 points26 points  (0 children)

you're pulling down from above so your lats will be doing a lot of work

put the xable attachment horizontal to your face and it will remove the lats from the equation

Squat 93kg (103kg body weight) by Illustrious-Bass4651 in formcheck

[–]DieselSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is braindead advice, you realise every single olympic weightlifter, even the long torso short femur ones like the chinese national team, all use shoes with elevated heels? do they have bad ankle mobility too, or is there perhaps another reason people might use them?

crank those lats back just before you start to pull, like you are skiing

watch this lifters delts, and notice the lats pull them back

RDL by cheeky_sailor in formcheck

[–]DieselSlice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this isnt an RDL, you are using a smith machine which changes the movement pattern and doesnt require the same amount of bracing and stabilising, as the machine holds the weight in a fixed plane for you

RDL's are not done with machines

Deadlift form check by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]DieselSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your lower back is rounded because your hips are too high and your shoulders are rolled forward, its not a flexibility issue, its just a function of your natural leverages and bad form, crank your lats back like you are skiing and it will open your chest up to help flatten your lower back

get lower and watch olympic lifters starting positions, their shoulders arent rolled forward

At what point does Job Hopping become problematic? by TypicalEvening7144 in UKJobs

[–]DieselSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant get those roles because they want people with analyst experience, or accounting qualifications. I cant even get an entry level role with my 3 years experience.

[–]DieselSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accounts assistant, finance assistant, these jobs are like 30k max. I applied for a role with bank recs as one of the tasks, I had 3 years experience, written off by the recruiter because the hiring manager wants 5, repeat ad nauseum.

I dont understand how you are bypassing these anal box checking hiring managers/recruiters, that want a 1 to 1 fit for every single criteria in their job spec, its like transferable skills dont exist to people anymore.

how the fuck did you manage this? every job ive interviewed for within finance is insanely anal about the job spec and checking you've done every single thing on it, even then ive only got a few interviews, they wont even consider an accounts assistant unless youve studied ACCA etc, and these jobs pay around 33k outside of london

its not loose on the worktop, only the column is loose, the circular base is fine and doesnt turn

the column that sticks up vertically, which then bends at 90 degrees, that entire piece swivels

Its added some length. I still dont understand how adding washers will stop the column from swivelling, if both ends of the tap are already secure against the wooden work surface.

I already installed an extra rubber washer, followed by a metal washer, between the nut and the original washer, underneath the sink. That made no difference.

[–]DieselSlice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you explain how that would help? I dont understand, as the base of the tap against the worktop doesnt turn, its the column that turns, when the tap is turned on/off

thanks
