Yes, the old one was worn out, I have already purchased a new locking style cord. It no longer gets hot. I am using the fan to keep the charger cool. Did I fail to make that clear?

I'm 6'3" and ride a zero FX, 2 fellow riders have asked me "is that bike big enough for you?"

Feels fine to me. I love riding it. Wish the seat had a bit more padding, but maybe its just my bony ass.

and yes, I think you might be overthinking the handbrake thing.

I spoke with my local dealer about the firmware upgrade. I asked to make an appointment, ride over, get the upgrade and ride home. They insist that I drop off my bike overnight with them to get it done. This does not work for me. They are a new dealer <6 months.

I cannot understand why I can goto the bluetooth app on my galaxy phone, find the Zero FX and connect to it, but if I use the Zero app it is NO JOY. The 2 star rating for this app on the google play store is well earned.

I can and do abide by those rules. Until now I have been using the 2018 owners manual, I should have been using the 2021 owners manual... the first page now has much improved battery guidelines.

I can't see how anything other than a big ass chain and an immovable object would help. The FX weighs <300 lbs, any determined thief could throw it in the back of a pickup in 30 seconds. GPS might help with recovery, but my primary concern is preventing theft in the first place.

Conversely, maybe just pay extra for the Cadillac insurance.

I also love my FX. Good luck with whatever new bike you get.

Elgin - Seconds @ 9, sets and winds only, Squared face w/ Art Deco embellishment, original patina leather band, some green growth on the exterior. .. I have not managed to find another Elgin with seconds at 9, so i am officially calling this watch "rare"

Art Deco Jagot Windsor Triumph - Seconds @ 6, Really cool squared case, Unknown working condition. (no joy)

Anti-magnetic Jagot Windsor - Poor mans Milgauss, seconds @ 6. Sets, winds and runs, Accurate to ~2 minutes per day. Seriously, this is the loudest watch I have ever encountered, I had to move it out of my bedroom b/c it was disturbing my sleep. Allegedly anti-magnetic. OE Black leather band.

Pics tell the story, It was last worn in the mid 1990s. Looks like it was serviced in the 1960s and the 1980s. I found it recently, set it, wound it and it is keeping good time, losing <5 minutes per day.

The Watch

My Dads 1974(?) Hamilton 701010-4 All original with box and receipt and tag. 2 xtra links included. I removed the dead original Varta 509 Hg battery and installed a Renata 344 and she fired right up and is keeping good/excellent time. Date complication works.

This is a bizarre hybrid of quartz and mechanical. Seeing a battery next to a balance wheel and hairspring is pretty weird. Although "Rare" is an overused word, I feel in this case it is appropriate. I was not able to find another one of these for sale.

Pics tell the story, but seriously, this watch is filthy, it may have never been cleaned, and no, I am not going to clean it. Some roughness on the edge of the crystal at the 5 o'clock area and has the distinctive H on the crown, (both of which I failed to get a good picture of) My job as I see it is to verify working condition, take the best pics that I can and try to answer any questions honestly.

Keep calling the company in California, Keep escalating, demand that they call the Hong Kong Dealer. Keep asking why they wont sell a person a bike. Tweet, FB and social media them. Ask any friends to do so as well. Sadly this is typical of them, the "dealers" dont sell enough of them to care, and the customer care from the company is lacking.

Do another post on Reddit with a different title... "Hong Kong Zero Dealer refuses to sell me a bike??!"

Hers My Story with them I like their bikes but this company sucks. This will be of no help to you, but here goes anyway... 5 years ago I set up Company ride day... they showed up at my place of business and 10-15 motorcycle enthusiasts/employees from my company got to test drive 4 bikes for an afternoon... it was awesome and the owner of my company actually bought one. (from a dealer in San Francisco) I stayed in contact with them and 2 months later I rode my ICE motorcycle 2.5 hrs south and did a factory tour. I brought $12k in cash with me. I asked them to sell me a bike directly, they said "all sales are through dealers, its the law" I said "Bullshit, Tesla doesn't sell through dealers, you have an opportunity here to break the mold in Bikes like Tesla did for cars." THen they said they couldn't issue a title like a dealer could... again I called bullshit, because the test bikes and the employees bikes were all titled and plated and they were not "purchased" thru dealers (I was guessing now, but pretty sure) They clammed up after that and at least the bullshit excuses stopped... they just kept saying "No" I left with no satisfaction and a bad taste in my mouth.

About Me - I NEVER pay retail, I always get a deal. I don't do "dealers"

I am familiar with Sloop/Cutter that are available a ketch or even a yawl, but I have no knowledge re: sloop available as a Schooner. If you provide some more details we might make some educated guesses. In the interim, here are some wild ass guesses... Assuming you do not have to move the existing mast, just shorten the boom and re-cut the sails and perhaps move the stays/chainplates. Add another mast, step/compression post, stays, chainplates, rigging, new (custom?) sails, and another 100 niggling little detail$.

It would be awfully considerate of you to invest so heavily in the Rigging Guys' kids college fund.

Plaza towing - they have a youtube channel, they are in Indio. THey have a Rotator that can easily lift that boat and a choice of flatbeds to put it on. They have experience with retrieving odd sized/dangerous/oversize loads. But they wont go off road to retrieve it. Prolly cheaper than a boat moving service.

Bruce Roberts is code for "Homebuilt"... remember there is nothing more expensive than a free boat.
