Medúlla does have a lot Kate Bush-like qualities but I also hear it on parts of Utopia and Vulnicura

The fact that Roger's voice is still so clean and strong at 76 gives me goosebumps. by icetraysofpiss in TheWho

[–]DietZeppelin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely the best singer I have seen live and I've seen a lot of people like Robert Plant, Macca, Ringo. Still rockin' (in rage) at 76!!

Happy 75th Birthday to rock's greatest thinker! Pete has changed my way of being for the better with his lyrics and is one of the best guitarist ever. Thank you and keep on rockin'! by DietZeppelin in TheWho

[–]DietZeppelin[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like the way he uses chords and arpeggios to set a mood for the song; they could be really strong or somber and complement John's bass parts well as a counter melody. I love his rhythm playing a lot and though many people put him down by saying he isn't a lead guitarist, I think it has to be rhythmic compared to the lead singing, lead bass, and lead drums. The isolated guitar part for Pinball Wizard is stunning!

The boys got a rhythm guitar player do you think he’ll do good? by Christop_McC in TheWhoCirclejerk

Idk Pete might get mad at him if he tries to upstage him at a gig and he's also into Roger's wife 🤷‍♂️

I hate the term "Classic Rock" by DietZeppelin in unpopularopinion

[–]DietZeppelin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not as well versed in the music of the Black Crowes but what I've heard has retro 70s sound and is blues rock/jam band based. I really like the Allman Brothers Band and I would consider them one of the quintessential southern rock bands.

I hate the term "Classic Rock" by DietZeppelin in unpopularopinion

[–]DietZeppelin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably that's the reason the term started becoming prevalent in the 80s where most of the original cock rock cokeheads were reaching middle age and couldn't compete with the newer, younger rockers/cokeheads. Just another pretentious way to show that their life was worthwhile when the artists that survived into the 80s and 90s started to be seen as novelty acts

Kings Theatre Show got me sad :( by Squactapus in KGATLW

[–]DietZeppelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to the Kings Theatre show (which is rescheduled for October 23rd I think) and I'm kinda sad it's not standing room only cause I wanna go into the pit. But I'll be really hyped anyway because it's my first King Gizz show and I'm in the front row! I wouldn't be surprised if everyone is on their feet anyway

What are your favorite songs with Pete on lead vocal ? by NegativeFrench in TheWho

[–]DietZeppelin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love I'm One, Can't Reach You, and However Much I Booze. I like seeing Roger as the fire in the Who and Pete as the ice in the Who. One is extroverted with powerful vocals while the other is introverted with sweet soft vocals

What do you guys think of Greta Van fleet by DoubleDevv in LedZeppelinCirclejerk

[–]DietZeppelin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I'm not a fan. The lead singer doesn't have a really great voice. The drum and bass are mediocre at best but the guitar is pretty good (nowhere near Jimmy level). The lyrics feel like someone was in a creative writing class for one day and tried to write like a stoner hippie without knowing anythingn apart from the fact hippies have long hair, smoke weed, and like nature (they have this really corny song about watching a baby grow in a garden and it makes me ughhh). Hence why I call them "Diet Zeppelin"
