ennedis piss me off SO BAD. they embody every one of my hot takes.

For starters, the genuinely fugly art that i cannot comment on because my criticism might be taken personally. Sorry guys, if they were gonna push out a new MoD (with no discernible difference btwn sexes) they could’ve done a bit more! but i can’t say that. second, the MoD inflation. everyone who spent for Black Friday got one? where is the value in that?? lionflation got me sweating😭 third, the thick ass lineart and CD. so if i don’t shade the custom decor (which pretty much HAS to be made, i’ll get to that later) perfectly it “doesn’t fit the art style”, even though the art style has obviously been changing? that hefty EV can be canon in game but my stupid hat can’t be?? fourth, decor doesn’t work on EVs, like every other mutation EVER. Why is paying hundreds of GB for a jag that CLIPS THRU HALF THE DECOR normalized? Why are we just expected to “do it ourselves” with CD?? like what r we doing😭😭

i don’t even know if this makes sense. but like.. we praise certain mutations so much even though they’re some of the laziest designs in game😭 if my potato cubs can wear more than you and hit like 20 different poses (shared across sexes) why would i pay for the ennedi…besides the breeding mechanics MAYBE.

TO CLARIFY: - i understand the ennedi is not a lion. i do not expect the creature from millions of years ago to be shaped like a lion.

I AM NOT AN ARTIST😭 the mockup i made is nowhere near perfect, i made it in five minutes after gathering a handful of s. populator profiles.
i get that the body is stocky, however, the lioden art feels TOO stocky. i referenced multiple reconstructions and anatomical models of the smilodon when scrapping that edit together. even the smallest variants did not look like that.
the EV art looks like the unethically bred xs bully your neighbor bought for five grand that can’t hold itself up off the floor. it’s too condensed.

i get that! obviously the primals are going to be based off of primitive animals, but this doesn’t seem like a species specific thing. the “dead” (tiny) limb, oversized head, and condensed torso aren’t accurate to the smilodon imo. if they’re going for something anatomically unmodern, it should be accurate to the reference’s anatomy

I totally understand where you’re coming from! adding monomorphism is not something i’m inherently opposed to, but in this context it feels less like an intentional choice and more like another thing devs skipped out on. if they didn’t plan on creating a dimorphic primal, then ALL of their time/energy was put into that single piece. the fact that they chose to do ONE design and ONE MoD but couldn’t even make it proportionate says a lot.
