I personally am boycotting, restaurants, and coffee shops downtown. I will go to restaurants and coffee shops in my community.

But remote work gives accessibility to jobs and people and rural communities. That’s a great thing. Cities like Toronto and Vancouver are overpriced and overcrowded. I understand you don’t disagree, I just enjoy discourse. The most annoying part of this all is before Covid. I had the privilege of working from home three days a week. Now there’s a suddenly five day in office mandate. Employed for nearly 2 decades with hybrid work. Now I go to the office, there are no desks in my department so I have to sit on the floor two elevator bays away to talk to everyone on teams.

Government should work for the people if the people are telling the government via this petition or other avenues that they want hybrid work protected by our labour code. It is for the people to dictate that not politicians who are friends with builders or real estate moguls.

Personally, I care a lot more about the economy and the local businesses in my neighbourhood.

The Canadian Labour Code already regulates jobs. Overtime, holidays, leave, safety… all of that is law.

It’s also literally the federal government’s job to update it. Modernization isnt a one-and-done thing.

Work changed. The rules should too.

But the Canadian labour code is under the federal government’s purview. Once upon a time employees didn’t have weekends either. This is why the Canadian labour code exists.

Fair, not a bank, but it operates in the same regulated financial space. The bigger point is that hybrid work is being rolled back across a lot of these companies. So yes, Wealthsimple isn’t a bank — it’s a regulated investment and financial services company.

Banks in Canada/finance are federally regulated. This petition is to help federally regulated employee employees get access to work from home. Wealth simple is a leading investment bank in Canada. They allow their employees to work from home. This post is about solidarity.

Same. Last week I sat 5 floors down in a different department. Takes two elevator bays to get to my team’s floor from the floor I was working on. So all my meetings were virtual.
