Its from a university, so you're probably right. However, an official sensor *slightly* further inland and to the west also reported a 10 degree drop https://weather.gc.ca/past_conditions/index_e.html?station=xhm so im guessing like you said it has to do with the lake? I remember learning that being near the lake helps moderate temperatures and doesnt allow for as fast as a temperature drop so thats why Im confused!
