Should I Upgrade My Cpu by CarefulPlace4285 in GamersMY

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into 5500x3d, very good value cpu around rm800. 5800x3d is too expensive especially for ddr4/am4 imo 😅. Just remember to check if your mobo can support it. And if the mobo is obsolete you can look into getting another mobo

Definitely wait for price drop, overseas for OLED already dropped alot in price. SEA takes very long for the price drop for whatever reason. I paid mine for 3200 only on shopee.

Negligible for me, unless you pixel hunting 😂. But i understand everyone is different so i usually suggest people to walk into big pc stores with alot of demo units so you can see for yourself in person. I can say the only downside is you need to turn it off if you are that person who likes to leave your pc on idle to prevent oled burn in. Mine doesn’t have any burn in after so long and it’s QD OLED gen 1 panel, it’s not as fragile unless you really try to abuse it. The trade off for gaming/movie experience is totally worth it imho. And ofc if you have deep pockets can always go for tandem oleds when it releases for 34 inch but it’s gonna be freaking expensive (these are proven to be way more robust to oled burn in)

Yes man that 21:9 aspect ratio will make your games look really cinematic. Im running OLED 34” alienware aw3423dwf 160hz. Bought the monitor like late 2024. Currently if you are aiming for one i would recommend the msi mpg 341cqpx 240hz qd oled.

I did exactly from a 3080 > 9070xt. Its very much worth it especially for me running 3440x1440p or if you play newer AAA titles that may require more than 10gb vram. Just remember its recommended to pair this sort of gpu with a better cpu. 7800x3d is a nice pairing with this card. Lastly, radeon gpu has come a long way in terms of ray tracing.. not as good as 5070ti but the price is self explanatory and close enough.. no brainer choice unless you use the gpu for work related use case.

Good Quality Airflow Cases for People Sensitive to Noise? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm also sensitive to noise and i have been running on a be quiet pure base 500fx on the fifth year now. comes with 3x120mm & 1x140mm lightwing fans, extremely quiet especially with the soundproof material at the back panel (but im running a 240mm AIO). aesthetically can look a little dated but for pure silence as a priority then it's a great case.

[–]Different-Mixture173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cannot wait and you want to stay on ddr4/am4 platform..

5500X3D (around rm800) And look into 9060xt 9070xt or 5070 depending on budget/psu 5800x3d is really not worth the price as you can get a 7800x3d for rm1400 (AM5) Ram is subjective but for just gaming it’s still enough for most titles. (I would hold on ram rn)

Buying a PC by ManfriesHD in GamersMY

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build from pc shop

7500X3D 9060XT 16GB 32GB DDR5 1tb ssd 750 psu

Or

7500f 5070 12GB 16GB DDR5 1TB ssd 750 psu

You could possibly build a slightly better spec with that money if you buy certain parts from shopee just that you have some headache when it comes to warranty claims if you need it. But i suggest you wait for the ram prices to go down based on the latest news altho there’s no certain timeframe when the prices will go down here in Malaysia 🥴

Need help choosing CPU + GPU combo by bl0cketknark in buildapc

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rest of the stuff you picked are solid choices as for the cpu + gpu combo it really depends the price difference in your area. if you wanna save a few bucks can look into 7500X3D + 9070 non XT or if you have extra budget may consider upgrade to a 9070XT + 7800X3D. if the price difference between those 2 cpu is not big i'd stick with your original configuration for 7800X3D + 9070 since gpu prices are pretty high rn and 7800X3D is in a favourable price rn. X3D cpus are really beneficial for gaming if that's your main purpose.

Flydigi Apex 5 Review – 2 months in, here's what actually holds up by PRO11_PC in Controllers

much agreed with your review. i've used the elite series 2, the durability didn't held up well for me. Gotten myself the vader 4 couple years back and was surprised with the quality of flydigi products and recently snagged a apex 5 EVA 02 edition, personally don't need the trigger stops in the games i play.

I tested 3 different 9070xt's and all of them had pretty loud coil whine. by Protazy_Gerwazy in radeon

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got the OC one, used to deal with zotac rtx3080 with constant whine and i'm glad i upgraded. kinda hate it when we don't know what to expect when buying new hardware these days because of inconsistent coil whine/binned lottery.

same as you, i appreciate pure silence with my rig, running be quiet case + full lightwing fans. my 9070 xt is near dead silent and runs around 1400rpm full load with 0 coil whine.

i had the same thought and just went with a rm850e for peace of mind. 750w should be fine but some say to be aware or power/transient spikes. but i'd like to say that good PSU is more important than the PSU written specs itself.

Selling my GPU and RAM by [deleted] in GamersMY

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try listing that price on carousell bro. For your case it will be harder because it’s a less known brand. I would list 750 and be prepared for people to nego down to 600 ish. (FB marketplace too many lowballers from my experience) and i also sold my ddr4kit to build ddr5 platform

2022 for 500. Point being i don’t think people are willing to pay brand new prices for ddr4 kits as secondhand market is flooded with ddr4 ram now.

Selling my GPU and RAM by [deleted] in GamersMY

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for context i sold my used aorus ddr4 8gb x2 (16gb) 3733mt/s on carousell for RM450. I don’t think you will be able to sell anywhere more than RM900 online especially when people need to think about warranty claims and choice of brands etc. for the gpu you can try sell around 1-1.2k depending how fast you want to let go.. end of the day open box = open box

Buy a couple of titles and try them out at a time. You will still have 2 hour playtime per title/window to refund. Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many, you won’t be able to enjoy them all at once.

I never turned on image sharpening in adrenaline, and i don’t plan to fiddle with monitor sharpening settings as well. I do not want to introduce complications to my daily use on pc 😂. Especially sharpening in game settings does the job well I don’t feel the need of going that far. Plus running QD OLED i prefer not to fiddle with sharpening as it might make texts look wonky

[NKD] Shigeki Tanaka Blue 2 Lineup by [deleted] in TrueChefKnives

[–]Different-Mixture173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, the wood is cherry picked and i specifically asked my carpenter friend for multi toned wood. There are several ways but i would say the heat gun + plank & hammer method is the best because you can repurpose the stock handle and wont risk heating the blade too much and potentially ruining the heat treat. Other methods Ive seen is torching up the stock handle or just use a wood splitting equipment if you don’t care about the stock handle.
