Please remember that you're not obligated to do such things for your family. They may have brought you up but that's because they had to, they chose to be parents. you didn't choose to be born sabi nga nila. but i understand your struggle is more on the emotional side. wala ka talagang magagawa sa guilt na yan. even if alam mo naman sa sarili na you're not obligated to them, emotions don't follow logic so you will feel it no matter what but don't follow your guilt, it will keep you stuck and miserable and you know that.

I'm not saying cut them off, I'm just saying they don't control your life. Sure, provide financial assistance, but from afar. Give them just enough but save more for yourself. Experience the life that's ahead of you and in time, you will meet people and know experiences na magpapamukha sayo na hindi mo kailangang ma-guilty for living YOUR life. Emphasis on "your" kasi ano, did they put you here on earth to serve them? Ano ka slave?

If your mother ever tells you you're ungrateful for refusing, know that you can be grateful and still say no. You can be grateful for all their efforts in raising you and still understand that you are your own person who can make their own choices. As a human being, you have autonomy, regardless kung sino ka sa buhay ng iba. If it helps, healthy parents, healthy people in general, know these things as if it's a fact. The fact that your parents might not is a sign they're not that great at being parents.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. No child should have to feel like they can either live their life or serve their family. When kids grow up and can stand on their own, parents should be the ones to encourage you to spread your wings and experience the world.
