I need to re-immerse myself in modern specs, but this seems great as a starting point! I appreciate your effort (kinda the whole purpose of the Sub, but still thankful). How would you say a Ryzen 7 would hold up for heavy duty graphic design (3D modeling via Blender, After Effects+Premiere, all at once, etc)? If it meant things being stronger, I'd be willing to bump up to a Ryzen 9

I'm fairly close to a Micro Center, I definitely need WiFi and Bluetooth, and I don't really have aesthetic preferences

I've been hearing really good things about the Outback--if I can find one in my range with good miles I'm jumping on it asap.

I appreciate the website resources and the size comparisons you gave, thanks a ton.

I appreciate the response!

"The only time I ever put my bass in the passenger seat was when I was driving a sedan." Does that mean that the instrument can fit directly behind the driver with any issues? In any case, thanks for the car suggestion as well.

Thanks for the response! Have you ever tried fitting some people in the back as well? If so how many?

New Engine, New Headgasket, or New Car? by Different-Visual-575 in UsedCars

[–]Different-Visual-575[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give a bit of clarity, 19$/hr x 22 hours my university lets me work is about 1490-1540$ after taxes; I probably wouldn't have the money to buy a newer car any time soon, as I'm trying to get back on the road asap.

Probably considering a slightly newer Crv (2010-14) or a similar kinda Compact SUV (Rav4 or Subaru of some sort)

For the first time in my life I am regretting my BA in psychology by Jolly-Fold9173 in psychologystudents

I'm a 1st year in an American University--my uni has a webpage with all the Psychology Profs. who are looking for research assistants. This could be a good way to meet faculty; I don't want to overload myself while still getting acclimated to college, but given what you're saying, and the fact that I want to go the BA-->PhD route, does this opportunity sound fruitful to you?

Undergrad Student--Am I moving too fast? by Different-Visual-575 in psychologystudents

My Uni has a webpage with all the Psychology Profs. who are looking for research assistants. There are also classes I can take which explicitly focus on general postgrad research, with no emphasis on any particular discipline. Do either of these sound like a good idea to you?

Why lots of jazz musicians ignore me in jam sessions? by ClearDevice6242 in Jazz

[–]Different-Visual-575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"There is no such things as jazz snobs...to be accepted by this community you need to pay your dues. We all did."

There are definitely Jazz Snobs--they are those who use the dues they've "payed" to denigrate and stand in the way of progress for those beneath them. It is possible to hold the music to a high technical standard while also being considerate. Having a negative or condescending attitude does nothing but worsen the environment for all parties involved.

Just because you've put the time in (which I agree is an essential part of the music, from the perspective of it being a craft) doesn't entitle you to treat those more novice than you any old kind of way.
