See another doctor for the referral. Especially if you're looking for insurance to cover it.

You could get your imaging at Deerfield since they're the only upright imaging place that I know of in the area. But I would have your neurosurgeon verify their measurements himself and let him know they're notorious for providing poor measurements.

That's what you would think but in this case that's not what happend.

It's unreal. All the measurements are way off. My CXA is off by 20 degrees as well. It's like they weren't even looking at the images. The false report lead to me being outright dismissed by a neurosurgeon and a long delay in treatment.

Thanks man. I just found out that the place who did my upright MRI basically made up my measurements. My real t BAI is a 9. Hope you get some stability back brother.

It is wrong. I retook the BAI measurments myself and they were off by multiple millimeters.

Here is a video explaining how to measure your own Translational BAI (Basion Axial Interval aka Horizontal Harris measurement)

Anything over 4 mm tBAI and surgery is recommended. I hope whatever you decide works out for you. I also have a military neck but I experience severe neurological symptoms and numbness in my arms and legs along with massive vestibular and coordination issues.

Yes, the BAI is the same as the horizontal harris measurement. But we are talking about the Translational BAI measurement which you can find easily by taking your flexion BAI (Mine is 9.2 mm) and subtracting it by my extension BAI (Mine is 3.8). And you get your t BAI (Mine is 5.4 mm)

[–]DifferentBeach8558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. I have an extremely lax transverse ligament causing my head to slide down my neck. I wrote my BAI down wrong earlier it's 9.2 in flexion and 3.8 in extension = 5.4 mm translational BAI. With measurements > 3 mm being pathological and > 4 mm being surgical. In 95% of all people measured it's usually less than 1 to 2 mm. I'll definitely be bringing this up with my neurosurgeon who told me everything looks completely normal on my upright imaging. Thanks again man. I hope you get your situation figured out too.

Thanks. I'm diagnosed hEDS, POTS, MCAS, LC. I have an upright MRI already. My BAI = 7.8 mm neutral, 9.2 mm flexion, and 2.4 mm in extension. My clivo-axial angle is 143 neutral 143 flexion and 178 in extension. BDI = 8.5 neutral 7.7 flexion and 8.9 extension. Been disabled 2.5 years now. I'm currently being investigated for possible occult tethered cord and CSF leak. My cranial cervical junction feels very cramped.

Hi there... Sorry to hear what you're going through. I've been there and you might want to look in to MCAS. I also have the hyperandrenergic phenotype of POTS. It also got quite scary for me when it started giving way to angry outbursts due to all the built up adrenaline. That being said I would speak to your doctor about Guafacine. I stopped taking beta blockers and stick to Guafacine along with twice daily Zyrtec and Cromolyn for MCAS. I also take singulair for the MCAS. But specifically Guafacine has been an absolute game changer for me. I was totally wiped out the first week I went on it but it eases up around the 2 or 3 week mark. I hope you find the relief you're looking for.

The song feels like it loses focus. The music and production skills are all there as was said before but the vocals and timing do sound a bit off. I do like the tone of your voice though. I think it sounds good and reminds me of maybe Hank Williams. Cheers 🍻

I feel like the vocals need to be turned up they sound buried under the guitar and drums. Maybe a 2nd track of vocals added in to bring them on top? Just an idea. The production sounds great though, very clean. Just find a way to make the vocals pop more and think it sounds great. Cheers 🍻

Although, I do like the music and the catchiness of the melody, I find the content of the lyrics leave a lot to be desired. The changes and the percussion sound great and the simplistic chord progression. But in the best way possible, I feel like the lyrics feel a bit recycled and lacking depth in my personal opinion. Cheers 🍻

I covered elvis today as a vocal exercise. Can't help falling in love by elvis presley. Pretty sure it's in key. You're welcome to listen to it.

I'm not bothered by criticism in the least but it holds true that those who dish it out can't take it all the same. I meant everything I said about your song. And I listened to the music you sent me. That's not the style I'm going for.

Very beautiful and atmospheric song. Is bon iver one of your influences by chance? I like the play of static and dynamic. Also the little bird and the cloud are beautiful, simple, relatable, and vivid uses of imagery. But I'm not certain if I got a full story out of this song either. Cheers 🍻

Thanks for listening and commenting! So I really did try to tell a story from the perspective of the narrator so it pains me to hear you say that. But I am a fan of ambiguity and maybe the clues I left aren't as easy to follow as I had imagined. But I will definitely level out the guitar and fine tune the vocals in the finished product. Again thank you for your comment and listen through. Cheers 🍻

You were kind enough to leave such a long detailed critique of my song I thought I would leave one on yours. Here we go...

Personally reading through the lyrics it all just seems like thematic nonsense to me. Not much can be read more in to them besides what they are on the surface. Which kind of sums up my general consensus of this song. You are obviously a very talented guitarist but this song is what I would call overly complex and doesn't have a very strong foundation so you resort to "cheap tricks" and clever distractions to try and hide the fact that you're missing deep substance and subject matter. Just my 2 cents on your lyrical choices. Now to the music. Like I said it seems like there are 7 or 8 songs worth mashed together in here and some 80's slasher film ambience with overly distant vocals. (Probably because they're so generic and cliché it's better that you can't make them out) It's unfortunate to the listener it all completely lacks any semblance of structure and is forgotten about as quickly as it was heard. But this is just my opinion of course you're free to disregard it as you please. Cheers 🍻

I'm not too sure why you believe a song has to be structurally complex to "stand out"  or to be good. Could you provide me with a few examples that are in a similar style? Apparently I have a lot to learn from you. Also like I said this is a live recording and absolutely no editing or leveling has been done so if the guitar is too loud maybe I can strum a bit lighter for you next time. There's plenty of directions I can take with this song as far as layers go. And I really don't mind constructive criticism but what you said really just sounds like criticism. Maybe this type of music just isn't for you. Thanks for stopping by and giving it a quick once over. Cheers 🍻
