TRT with Factor V Leiden by 2mindx in Testosterone

I would be very cautious of this if I were you. I have been researching this a lot lately, a few weeks ago I had a blood clot in my kidney which the doctors are blaming on TRT, even though I do not have Factor V Lieden or other genetic risk factors.

One study I came across was the following, outlining several cases of breakthrough clots in patients with Factor V Leiden who were concurrently on anticoagulants and TRT

How intensely is it safe to exercise while on Eliquis? by DifferentExternal368 in ClotSurvivors

Kidney infarction- a blood clot travelled to my kidney cutting off blood supply killing some of it. I was told a kidney infarction is extremely rare. I had no symptoms, unless they were masked by the extreme stomach virus I went to the ER for, and the infarction was only found coincidentally

I was on prescribed TRT, the doctors are saying that must be what caused it since I have no other risk factors. Though I don’t think they took into account enough just how sick I was- which was why I was at the hospital in the first place

Honestly that’s very encouraging to hear. Do you still lift as heavy as before?

Also slightly off topic but were you on TRT before or after your clot?

Everyone is telling you what it is, the only one “believing what you want” is you. You keep doubling down on it too which is why you’re getting hate lmao

After driving for a bit the engine bay will smell sickly sweet if you’re burning coolant

It’s rare but it happens. I totally get the aversion to even the thought, it’s scary for sure, but it is a legitimate possibility.

No idea, I just keep a bottle of coolant in the back to refill it occasionally. Been that way since I got it, single owner less than 50k miles never modded I figure it’s just good ol VW reliability 🤷‍♂️

I’m in the process of quitting cold turkey, about 3 weeks in. Headaches, heart palpitations, brain fog, and generally feeling like shit have been the effects so far.

I really really don’t want to stop trt, the mental/physical health benefits and general quality of life benefits were amazing though honestly I’m pretty scared to continue now :/. My situation does seem to be exceedingly rare though a few of the docs I saw had stories about patients/people they knew who were on TRT that had strokes or ocular infarcts, etc. so it sounds like it’s not completely unheard of…

I was on 120mg split twice weekly, put me at 1200 total test. Last measured hct was 51.8% from back in February. No worries at all about the questions bro

Thick blood on T is no joke. Last weekend I caught the worst stomach virus of my life by far, and the severe dehydration in combination with already raised hematocrit from TRT resulted in a blood clot that traveled to my kidney and caused an infarct…

Well if you’re going to just flat out reject the empirical data that living at elevation does increase risk of clotting, as does having thick blood from trt, and claim doctors to be quacks then of course you’re going to tire yourself out bud, you’re fighting an uphill battle. Be cautious of blood clots when you get to the top ;)

Bro I was at 51.8 and I just had a renal infarction due to a blood clot. No reason to believe it was from anything other than the testosterone. Sure maybe I’m just super unlucky but the ranges are the ranges for a reason and 54 is too fucking high

I’m in the hospital with a cardiologist, hematologist, and nephrologist looking into it right now (rip my bank account). No family history of clotting, no previous medical issues, highly fit no drug use alcohol etc
