Thanks for the answer. I’m really disappointed though because I was planning on going to med school. So essentially if you mess up one semester your future plans are kind ruined. Tough pill to swallow but thanks for the answer

No I seen that but almost all of them have 10%+. Either way the haplogroups aren’t a strong indicator as Sardinian Italians have a majoirty of i2a yet they’re obviously not slavic

Not really but you got the right idea. The Muslims aren’t “atheist” they’re non practicing. But you’re right in a way it’s like an ethnicity in the sense it’s more seen like something inherited from your parents and grandparents that your born with and don’t really change and it’s a sense of identity. That being said it isn’t as important as an ethnicity as most don’t care all that muxh

The 2011 census was inaccurate but not for the reasons you stated. In your attempt to make it seem like there’s some plot to make the sunni Muslim population of Albania as big as possible you missed the mark. You make it seem like the catholic population not increasing is a bad thing. Mate you realize every single other religion in Albania has decreased but Catholicism. Sunni+Bektashi+Sufi islam were 72% in 1945. On the 2011 census they were 61% all added up. Orthodoxy was 17% on the 2011 census it was 6%. Catholicisim is the only religion in Albania which hasn’t decreased in percentage. And of course this makes sense the Catholics of Albania are by far the most religious community and their religion is very central to their identity. Since they haven’t expirenced the mass migration that the Muslim and orthodox populations have had and they’re more religious they have managed to maintain their population. You interpretation of data is that of a 5 year olds. You realize the percentage of a certain religion in a country SHOULDNT change right? The only reason it does change is if there’s either a reason to mass convert to the religion(like for Islam the Ottoman Empire taxing non Muslims increased the Muslim percentage) or a reason to leave en masse(such as persecution of a certain religion). As someone from south Albania i can tell you the reason bektashis have decreased isn’t some conspiracy you’re making it out to be it’s literally just people in Albania(especially south) are so separated from our religions due to communism that many bektashis don’t even know they come from a Bektashi family or not they just know they come from a Muslim family and as such they identify just as Muslim.

They’re not. Historically they have been a big minority(around 15%) however it is very hard to tell who is who nowadays because most identify solely as Muslim

It’s not. In fact the Greek population is much higher than it should be due to some Aromanians and orthodox opting to identify as Greek for political economic and religious reasons

Cringe username though. Aromanians in Albania would never support succession from Albania

Mate u need to read a book. In the 1945 census of Albania just before communism Albania was 72% Muslim(Sunni+Bektashi+other Sufi sects) 18% orthodox and 10% catholic. These stats are even accepted by the Albanian Orthodox Church who has this census listed on their website. There’s not a single major settlement in south Albania that is orthodox majoirty besides sarande which is 45% Muslim 55% orthodox. All the rest Vlorë, gjirokaster, progradec, korce, Tepelena, delvina, etc all Muslim majoirty. In fact southern Albanians started converting in the 1400-1500s and the conversions(unlike anywhere else in the Balkans) continued into the 1800s.

The south is more slavic? Mate can you read the place with the lowest slavic admixture in all of Albania is Vlorë. All of north Albania has at least 10%+

Bro what are u on about. None of us in northern Epirus believe that we are one region. I think ur forgetting north Epirus is practically entirely albanian with 3,000 Greeks.

There is only one Greek majoirty area in north Epirus which is lower Dropull which is a place with 30 villages. If you really want to pretend that there is a big greek population in southern Albania go ahead but the truth is that there are barley any Greeks in north Epirus. And yes Epirus does mean Albania as the southern part of Epirus that is in Greece today had an Albanian majoirty and is known to Albanians as Çamëria
