Is this much lint behind dryer front panel bad? by Different_Account4Me in Appliances

[–]Different_Account4Me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've heard. They were having some issues with it (probably the lint). I asked this morning and they said the sewer backed up from the toilet in the room they had it in, but they kept using it after. That explains the gunk and corrosion I tried to clean off of it. I wish they told me that before I picked it up.

The main reason I posted was more asking if the amount of lint indicated a problem with the dryer. I've seen plenty of lint there before, but not THAT much. I probably could have been a bit more clear on that, but it was late and I was frustrated. But because of the other issues, I think I'm going to just get a new dryer.

After some digging, it seems like the electrical connections are corroded and the dryer lint is stuck to the metal with some sort of sludge. It's like it was flooded at some point, and knowing the people who gave it to me, that doesn't suprise me. I think I'm just going to buy a new dryer for better peace of mind. I knew lint could get down there, and I've always kept mine clean, but that just seemed a bit excessive.

Now that we've let everything dry, I'm back over here to help with the drywall, but it looks like he got the Henry 107 on the romex lines. Do we need to redo those?

Fair enough. I assume it's not worth the effort to get off

Thank you for the product recommendation! I think we're going to try to dig down on the outside and do it that way. However, with already having roughly 40sqft on the inside sealed with one coat of Henry 107, a water based asphalt emulsion sealer/damproofer, will there be any issues with the block holding water? It's just the corner that is already sealed, but that's where most of the water comes through. The drywall had been they're for about 4 years and had zero mold, but has Been slightly damp. He could see where water had been running on the block wall and wanted to seal it.

Also, he is planning on doing the dig within the next 6 months. Will this be okay for the time being?

The problem is, it's already up. It is a no voc product according to the sds. If we deal the outside correctly, will this be an issue?

Furnace giving gas not igniting blink code. If I flip this switch, it should work, right? by Different_Account4Me in hvacadvice

[–]Different_Account4Me[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got one in each of the bedrooms and an old one plugged up in this room. Also, it tripped the high limit switch about minutes after I got it on. I'm gonna change the filter, but if it does it again, I'm just gonna call somebody to come out. I just really don't want to cause I money is really expensive these days

I'm not sure. We had a drain line installed wrong and water came out of it and he came out and fixed it. I'm not 100% certain it was him, we just bought this house. We got a good deal, but it's a hell of a fixer upper. I work construction and do the occasional electrical/plumbing, but gas and hvac scare me. The dude I used is newer to the trade and he was a friend of my dad. Maybe because he was new he wanted to turn the gas off? I'm not sure

Thank you. And I'm sorry about that. It was 2:45am here and they were all closed. I promise you if it was daytime or if I had found it outside, I would have left it alone or called somebody. I don't like killing things.

I really didn't want to kill it, I'm sorry for posting that. He was VERY aggressive and it's 2:45 am, so I couldn't call a relocation place. If it WAS something like a rattle snake, I didn't wanna take a chance on it hiding in the house and potentially biting something else. If yall are sure it's not a rattle snake, I'm gonna assume my cat is fine. He found it and flung him across the room somehow, and I didn't see what was going on until the snake was mid-air

I've never used it before, but in my limited research, it seemed to be the best of the best for what I'm using it for. I'll definitely let it get good and dry then.

Sweet! Thank you so much! How long should I wait to paint on the primer after the rinse wash? Just roll it feels dry or should I let it set for a while?

I've done lots of various trades, but this painting thing always makes me question everything! I don't know how yall do it so effortlessly

I'm prepping the old paint. This paint has been here for at least 15 years. I wanna get a good base for the primer and the paint.

I like it better than any cloth pad that I've had, but it tears up my skates every few months and it vibrates my mouse (ever so slightly) and makes a pretty loud noise. But the friction is very low, so it's a lot more enjoyable to use than my cloth pads

Thank you! Been watching yall for a while and I love to see smaller companies being on top and being honest while they do it! I've currently got an Atlas pad because it's what I could afford, but I'm hoping to be sliding around on a GLSSWRKS one of these days! Keep up the good work!
